NFL careers are short. Nobody sticks around for less unless they already have their career bankroll tucked away. That's just plain foolish to do that for a young kid like Winston.

Don't know Papz, Bart Star, Joe Namath, Ken Stabler and more recently Tua and Jalen Hurts are not bad reps for 'Bama...

But I get what you're saying, are they that good are products of a dominant team...

How short was the career for Drew or Brady? I'd rather just have gas money and a Maserati than flash money and a Pinto that I was tied to for the term of the contract.

LOL! Sorry, Rugs. I've read through that several times and am having a problem getting the point of your analogy.

Oh, wait! I get it now. The Saints are the Maserati. D'uh!

But, if after a point that gas money only buys you a real Pinto and it takes that flash to buy yourself a Maserati of your own?

I'm sorry, but our man is going for that money.

Why comment if all you want to do is wait and see... Forums are for discussion if we take a wait and see approach there would be no activity here.

Don't get me wrong, I want nothing more than to have continued success. Even if for no reason other than knowing that there will be narcissistic armchair managers who don't know the smell of a locker room or how many lances on a football, coming to the realization that in spite of their ignorant opinions Sean Payton is extremely talented.

Drew Brees had a hand in but didn't save the New Orleans Saints. Sean Payton did when he took a chance and brought Drew Brees here. People moan about Sean's hubris but it takes that level of hubris to believe you can bring in a player who's career might be over and think you can make it work.

Mac Jones. Could be the next Tom Brady with Payton. Three guaranteed cheap years allowing the team to stabilize and rebuild where necessary. Saints are then competitive for the next ten years.

Not sure what your angle is here Oak. Are you so insecure that you are going to call me names until I say you are right? Passive aggressive? No, it’s not wanting to spend energy arguing with someone Who obviously has a chip on their shoulder over something that will be determined over time. Do you want to argue about what the temp is gonna be here in Boston one month from today? Because that too is something we will see in time and won’t know until it happens.

You made statements predicting how much talent will be lost because of the cap hell. I simply indicated it might not be as bad as you think, saying “ I don’t think there will be a massive talent drop off like you are predicting. We will see though.” if you want to Try and look into my psychological make-up and accuse me of being passive aggressive over this, then knock yourself the f$&ck out. I’ve gone on record here many times and people, I think, will back me up when I say I try to keep an open mind on this site and not act like I know everything.

As you well should. I'm the only one here that knows everything. You stay in your place, Boston.

I guess he ended up going with gas money for the Buick.
