I'll ask you what scouts ask coaches/GM on scouting today's QB. Do you view movement ability, 2nd reaction ability as a required trait in your system to be successful in this league? And remove Tom Brady from this because he's an outlier.

Mac isn't an athlete, limited in mobility & many coaches view second reaction as critical in their evaluation. If a coach believes second reaction is extremely important ... Mac is probably not a 1st round pick. Look at the 2020 draft ... The Chargers Herbert kid & Burrow check those boxes. Both extremely athletic, has through the chart reaction ability & are high level athletes. I see traits in Trey Lance of 2021 as well.

No hate here but I don't see Mac translating well at the next level. It's a different game & a beast. Especially at QB.

It's only 5.5 with incentives. If he reaches those incentives, it's well worth it.

And a slower, more indecisive Brooks??? Hahahahaha.....do you even watch football?

Kurt Warner and Drew Brees comparos...

Maybe as a third rounder?

Actually, it's $5.5 million PLUS incentives. The incentives total $7 million on their own. Given he had no stats last season the incentives will be classified as "unlikely to be achieved" and won't hit the books until 2022 if he does reach them. Still not bad.

I have heard Mac Jones being touted as the second best prospect (Charlie Weis) and the best (June Jones). They both know QB's. Both say his accuracy is off the charts (see Drew Brees). His leadership is excellent (see Drew Brees). Weis said in a program like Alabama that is full of alpha males for Jones to be universally accepted by all as their singular leader is a game changer when looking for a QB for the NFL. No, he's not the most athletic, but he isn't a stone statue like Tom Brady, either.

That said, he's not going to be there when we pick at #28 ... unless we package and move up. I wouldn't mind that.

Re: Saints and Jameis Winston reach an agreement on a 1-year deal

Being from Florida, my Bucs loving friends are estatic. They endured Winston and can't believe he is the best we could do. Hopefully, he can go to the wizard and get a brain, judgment is not Winston's strong attribute. Maybe he can learn to throw the ball away or take a sack, instead of throwing it to the wrong jersey. We will see. Praying for a solid pick in the draft.

I love the Saints and just hoped for more.

It ain’t like Drew Brees didn’t throw his fair share now. Peyton Manning and Brett Favre said hello too. Brees didn’t really cut down on his picks until these last four or five years. He saved them for the big moments then.

As a third rounder I’m with it. As a first? Nah! I want Horn or Moehrig.
