Analysts keep saying we need another WR - we certainly could use another dedicated WRz, but how can they not see the need for CB2, NT and OT?

I think WR is more of a need than a lot of people think. Harris, Smith, and Calloway, have huge potential and have shown they can get it done but injury is definitely a concern. All of them seem to get dinged up a lot. I think LB, CB, and the defensive line are priority but we aren’t as set at WR as some might think.

WRz is a need; Harris is able to do some things, but you need a 6'0"/2" burner (e.g. Devery, Brandin Cooks) to stretch defenses, deepen passing buckets...

Draft? Other than the elite, I'd focus on other positions through the first two, early third round. Guys that could do the job and should be there later in Rounds 3, 4 are:

Ihmir Smith-Marsette, Jaelon Darden (short as well, but dynamic), Tre Nixon, Marlon Williams, Racey McMath, Marquez Stevenson...

Good observation. However, we got more production from UDFA's than any other NFL team. These aren't scrubs without talent. These are the players who weren't drafted because they fell for a variety of reasons but they all have great potential. UDFA's know that they will get a fair shot in New Orleans.

Sitting tight, even trading back and drafting players seems to improve the overall quality of the roster? Imagine that...

WLB (2) 56 - DeMario Davis, 42 - Chase Hansen (RFC 2021)

MLB (2) 55 - Kaden Elliss, 54 - Wynton McManis (RFC 2021)

SLB (2) 53 - Zach Baun, 50 - Andrew Dowell (RFC 2021), 59 - Marcus Willoughby (RFC 2021)

Just imagine this roster without Demario ... scary.

"Batman needs a Robin". Jabrill C, Jamin D, Zaven Collins perhaps? Don't know what to make of Baun. Coming out of last year's draft class, some scouts had him as a 1st round prospect. I thought he played well on special teams though ...

That’s very true and scary. Also a hallmark of Payton’s tenure...failure to draft and develop LBs.

My uncle is a UT season ticket holder (lives in Broken Arrow / suburb of Tulsa) seems to think he's an impact player year 1. Stands out, makes plays and elevates others.

What if he and/or Jabrill slips to the second? I'd be happy with either.

Can see Sean jumping on Kyle Trask if he falls to 'em Round 2; that said, with the talent at LBer this draft, a great complement to Davis can be had Rounds 2 or 3...

Those Rd1 picks really need to go to those premiums pos such as QB, CB, WRx, OT1; rarely do the other positions impact a game that much, but they're rare exceptions...

Great on Chase but is there any "buzz" on Baun?

Last year I was really hoping Kaden Ellis would be that "gem" but after watching him in spot duty vs GB ... he obviously needs a lot of work.

After Demario, I see a bunch of 3rd tier players. Saints need to either bring in another experienced LB or draft one (Collins, Cox, Jamin) in 3 weeks.

I wonder if Mike Nolan has any desire to become a positional coach again?

All I know is that we need a speedy sideline to sideline LB'er with coverage skills to match up with Davis. I want the Kwon Alexander clone in this draft who can diagnose the plays and arrive with bad intentions.

We at least four good LBers on this roster to keep this defense in respectability; after DeMario, there's a lot of questions...

Until CBs started getting paid, respected in recently (Thank Deion Sanders for it), most DBs were former HS standout QBs, RBs as they were the best athletes...

Things have changed according to a discussion on NFL Radio yesterday. They were talking about CB's of the past being 5'8" to 5'10" and usually slight of build. In recent years the positions of both CB and WR have become more attractive to the bigger, better athletes playing the game at the youth level and up. They are becoming the new glamour positions. These former youths have been coming into the NFL not after being converted from other positions, but having played the position for ten years or so.

TE (3) 82 - Adam Trautman

Solid rookie season, not to mention he had little to no OTA/rookie mini camp. Don't have his blocking stats available but this is an area where he probably shined in 2020.

IMO Adam has the tools to become a future stud. Very smart too.

That was because everyone wanted the CB who was coincidentally drafted at the same slot we're set, No. 28 - Redskins CB Great Darrell Green...

Closest we had to him was Jabari Greer - and it wasn't that close...

Will Clapp isn’t actually with the team anymore. The rest are nobodies. Hurst is going to be that very valuable 6th man now that Easton is gone.

IMO Trautman is a stud in the making …

Give him time in the Saints complex offense. Notice the footwork within the 1st five yards of this route. The tools are there & he's extremely bright. Had a solid rookie season.

George Kittle was a 5th rounder. If Traut (maybe his nickname should be fish?) can be close to George we’d have a steal!

Kelce and Kittle were the comparisons made when we drafted him.

Mid way through the clip, I like how Juwan stands there with his body turned inside moving the defense outside, then casually breaks to the post :p. On a undisciplined defense, that's potentially a big gain or 6.

Made me laugh though.

Last year in the redzone against the champs … it almost looks like the same play here with Winston. Notice the footwork starting around :25 & subsequent score.
