Need a bit more than a game manager to make it to the big game, IMHO. Who can throw the deep ball better among the three ? Trevor seemed to find the open intermediate pass catcher .

Re: Trevor Siemian

I thought he did a good job, but I also though he lacked zip on some of his throws

Re: Trevor Siemian

At times it looked like he did a better job of reading the defense than both Hill or Winston, other times not so much. Hill will be the starter next week according to Payton. He said if Hill was in tonight Trevor would have still come in after Winston because the game plan was what it was. Going forward Hill will be the guy. I would rather see Trevor at Qb and Hill in his current role but whatever.

Re: Trevor Siemian

I feel like Semien did well with going through his progressions but lacked both arm talent and mobility.

Was thinking the same thing, plus having MI back frees up Kamara.

Re: Trevor Siemian

Sorry to see Winston injured. Feel bad for the guy.

The Saints rallied well behind the QB coming off the bench. I love how Payton didn't mess around with handing off a couple of times, he went straight for the pass.

I would love to have Tua if Miami does the Watson deal.

What he lacked was confidence in the system. His mobility was fine, he was scrambling out of the pocket, avoiding a lot of sacks. His arm strength is adequate. These are not the most important things to playing QB. The two most important things to playing QB A) Accuracy.. being able to put the ball right where you want, putting it on back shoulder throws, etc... and B) being able to scan the field and find the open receiver. Out of the 3 guys we got. Siemian has the best package. The Saints offense is very complicated. A big portion of his mistakes were on timing routes. We went through a phase in the game where we couldn't score, but that was mostly due to the O-line.. they were really getting to him. We kept passing passing passing. Even if you are only getting a handful of yards, you still have to run to keep them on their heels. Plus this wears on the defense. If Winston is out for the year, I hope we don't go to Hill yet, we have plenty of time if Siemian fails(which he won't) . This guy imo has earned another start and practice with the 1sts.

Re: Trevor Siemian

I hope we go to Hill. Siemian looked great but he was gifted on a horrific pick in the end zone that could have changed the landscape of the game. I think if we don't prohibit Hill from running, he can do some things that will keep the d off balance.

We have a very complicated offense, and some of the mistakes he made were on timing routes and things that can be fixed. A week or 2 of practice and we got someone that I feel can lead us. I'm suddenly incredibly optimistic.
The second Taysom Hill is able he'll be the starter and Siemian will be relegated back to the backup role.

Re: Trevor Siemian

Hill needs to come into games with a run first mentality and let that open up the passing game. They’ll have to play more zone so they can keep their eyes on him, and he’ll have to hit people in those windows. Hopefully wide open windows with the threat of his legs. I liken him to Jalen Hurts moving forward. Less arm strength though. I kinda wanna see Trevor over Hill as well.
