this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; Per news report, Trevor has been named the starter on Sunday. Makes perfect sense to me....

Re: Trevor Siemian
Well .. he did sign a convoluted contract . No one is really sure about how it's supposed to work for next year, other than the Saints and Taysom. It's prolly a renegotiated deal, if we're guessing.

If TH7 had won the QB1 job, done a good job this year, then the Saints could negotiate for the future up to the $140 million cap that was applied to the void years. But no matter what they are void and TH7 can walk at the end of this season.

Re: Trevor Siemian
They said the same thing on NFL Radio a short time ago. It looks like either Ian Book gets backup duties or Taysom abandons his joker role. I hope it's the former because we need the ball in Taysom's hands as much as possible.

Re: Trevor Siemian
Siemian as the starter is a good move. Because if Hill is the starting QB we are asking him to be on the field all of the time for the offense - and being the full time QB is much much more mentally taxing than Hill's joker role where he is shuttling between the field and the sideline. That's a big concern for someone recovering from a concussion.

Re: Trevor Siemian
I could see him as Qb2 for this week if they don’t want him jumping right back into Joker coming off a concussion. After this week I can see him back in Joker. Any way you cut it he will probably have limited touches. It’s not like the Falcons are world beaters.
