Agree completely. Good thing I only limit myself to that source when in the car or getting in my 5-6 mile walk every day. There's WAY too many great sources of NFL information out there not to use them all. :D

I will add that one of the least informative is NFL Network as it is owned by the NFL. XM's NFL Radio is only affiliated to the NFL in content, being owned by Liberty Media Corp. All on air personalities are employed by SiriusXM. They cut the NFL no slack.

Let me fill you in, saintfan, how this whole "ignore" function works. All of your posts are hidden to me, and to the others that have you on their ignore lists. However, any of your posts that are replied upon by others that are not on our ignore lists are displayed as part of that reply. I believe the pass Holder was referring to was the record. No doubt Allen knew what he was facing. I'm sure he knows all about big boy football better than any of us. He also knows that the situation he faces in New Orleans is light years ahead of that with the Raiders at that time.

So Bienemy has been at KC under Andy Reid, has Mahomes, Hill, Kielce and Edwards Helaire to name a few and Reid calls the plays. So how would exactly he be a fit for the Saints?

And what would you call these mysterious saintfan posts that seem to appear out of nowhere where ever I happen to post? The post itself isn't displayed, but the message "This message is hidden because saintfan is on your ignore list." plainly appears. The label you just mentioned would be a perfect fit for that, don't you think? I have noticed several members call him out on it while others have simply added him to their ignore lists, as well. I would assume he'd try to mix in the very occasional football related post, as well. At least one would hope.

Well, in 2012 without Payton, Carmichael called the plays and we had 3rd rank
offense. Only problem is we had 31st ranked defense so I think we can say Carmichael can call plays on his own. Not that I dislike Bienemy, he has always had Reid on the sidelines with him and not sure on his play calling abilities. Now, would he keep Carmichael? I still believe Allen will become head coach, the only position I think is a toss up is DC. Richard or Nielsen. I would lean towards Richard but again I'm just a fan.

Yup. Pretty much the same duties, although Bieniemy may have more a role in the actual game planning than Carmichael has had in the past. Both are involved, but from what I have read Bieniemy has more of a lead in that aspect. Of course, with both Payton and Brees gone it may all be on Carmichael ... if he stays.

Sean Payton had never been a head coach either. He was a quarterbacks coach before he got here. What plays was he calling?

Payton did have playcalling duties with the Giants for awhile, but he was stripped of those duties in October 2002.

Oct 31, 2002 — Come Sunday night, Payton will be on the sideline at Giants Stadium, stripped of the play-calling duties that define his role with the team.

He seemed to pick it up later to a decent degree. :D

Jacksonville fans should be absolutely elated with this HC hire.

Doug is a MASSIVE upgrade over Urban Meyer. He'll get that franchise back to respectable within 3 seasons.

Yup. Urban gave the perfect example of how to demotivate professional athletes. They have the potential to make an immediate impact in that division.

Sounding more to me like it is Allen's job to lose and the status quo is the plan moving forward. I could have been happy with others, but personally don't mind this scenario at all. We should be back on top of the NFC South again in 2022.

I don't find that very strange. Being a HC doesn't give you as much time being a pure football coach, it comes with a heck of administration and other management stuff. Thats usually why a lot of people struggle when they get promoted, both in football and in business. They are good at their craft but not all the other hoopla, that's a skill in itself.
