Payton bailed and if I was Loomy I wouldn't budge. And as far as the 2 for 1 deal goes I'll simplify things for you: If i had 2 dollars and the asking price for a coach or player was $2 asking price and I decide to pay it for either I'm out $2 either way. Simple math. Same rules apply to picks or money. And the only team that can afford Lommy"s asking price is Houston. Also goes to show how much power Payton really has.

Who says that's Loomis' asking price? Some blogger dude? Loomis himself supposedly said the interested teams were told a 1st plus a package of other picks. That supposed two 1st's were mentioned by others as a comparison to the Raiders/Bucs Gruden deal, which by the way, the Bucs got screwed on. :D

But, I'm sure you are right and we'll get the two 1st's.

Saints fans would freak out if the shoe was on the other foot.

One more season of Dennis Allen as HC should change your opinion...

If Houston hires Demeco, it's down to AZ or DEN - that we know of at least.

Fingers crossed for that #3 pick!

Since when did 70% become synonymous with 100%? ;) Why wouldn't he interview the teams? If there was a 30% chance they could convince him to join them then why not? It isn't like he doesn't have the time. LOL! He only works a few hours a week with that cushy studio gig. Due diligence. :D

I doubt it. I wouldn't want to give multiple 1st rounders for any coach. But, I'm hoping like hell that Dennis Allen changes a lot of opinions after one more season. However, I have a feeling that many are secretly hoping he fails just so they can be vindicated. I'm just hoping that he succeeds because it would mean we were winning again.

I have never believed in the one and done philosophy for coaches. Unless, of course, it involves a total train wreck like the Urban Meyer ordeal.

Activity is heating up today. You can add the Redskins/Commanders to that list. That was the mystery team.

The biggest barrier to CSP returning to coaching is the easy money from Fox. Nuts how much being a talking head can pay.

Except he's got at least three high maintenance properties in various parts of the country, not the least of which the cost of living in L.A. is beyond ridiculous. And I am sure the former Miss WV has a certain standard of living expectation he needs to keep up with.

I'm sure he's not having money issues. It would be very difficult to spend that $10 million a year Fax is paying, not to mention all of his endorsement deals. They probably double that amount.

I'm beginning to wonder if Sean Payton's ego hasn't gotten in the way of his interviews? I am sure he thought the market was going to be a lot larger for his Services than what he's actually dealing with currently. I know this has to be rather crushing for him, but once in awhile an ego check is actually a good thing. Humility is one of the things he could benefit from.

I really don't think it's the teams not wanting him. Payton doesn't have to take any of these jobs. None of them are that attractive. He went into the whole interview process saying that the chances were that he wouldn't take any of the openings and just return to Fox. That was before he ever talked to any of the teams. These teams are not interviewing him. He is interviewing them. He doesn't have to sell himself to them. They already know what he has to offer. They are in the position of having to sell themselves to him. None of them have that great of a selling point. That's why Payton may very well wait to see what next year's market looks like.

Just as I thought. The whole "Loomis asking for two 1st's" appears to be a social media fabrication.

Whatevs ...

Just give us those picks. No wonder Vic Fangio took a DC job elsewhere.

Enough of the drama.

Exactly. ^^^ Wankers watching (other) winning teams advance and (other) teams make significant changes, while our multi-million dollar mismanagement plays chess. It's old.

Cardinals: 2023 2.35, 2024 1st, 2024 3rd

They invested wayyyyyyyyyyy too much in Murray to not go hard after Payton. I'm sure his wife will love that sunny Glendale environment as well. It's only an hour flight to Los Angeles and 45 minutes to Vegas. Hurry up and get this **** over with.

If Payton goes back to TV, I will have never ending mean things to say about him until the end of time.

If he goes back to TV it's because the current jobs suck and he thinks he'll get something better next year. Makes sense. Usually there's eight to ten openings to choose from. There were only five this year. That Chargers job he really wants may be open. Maybe even the Saints gig.
