I guess it wasn't Condi that blew Denver's chance for Payton.

Colin Cowherd links Sean Payton with interesting NFC East team

Is this the mystery team in question?

Larry Fitzgerald Endorses Sean Payton for Cardinals Head Coaching Job

If you really want to build a foundation for success, Sean Payton has done that for quite a while," Fitzgerald said. "He is a franchise-changer. If you’re trying to change the conversation, he’s the guy that has the ability to do that."

"Look at what he did with Drew Brees," Fitzgerald said. "He did it under the tutelage of Sean Payton. He can change the fortunes of an organization.

Sean Payton's marketing team may have priced themselves out of the market of several good teams. His demands for full control over the team will cause several other teams to pass on him. I don't think his job market is shaking out like he had hoped. He may very well be going back to Fox as an announcer rather than coaching this year. It would be sad if we lost the draft capital that this front office has banked our future on coming from Sean Payton. Which is another thing. How could this front office Gamble as willingly as they did last season without Sean Payton there who is the best poker player and chess player in the house?

Actually, I think this job market is turning out pretty much as he expected. Don't forget that he basically said it was a 70% chance he would be returning to the Fox studio before he ever interviewed the first team. In his interview with his daughter she showed a graphic with the odds for his landing with different teams. He told her she was leaving out returning to the TV gig. I'll also be willing to bet that the front office hasn't been counting on the draft capital being in the picture this season. They know what he would be looking for in a position and also know that almost all of these teams couldn't meet those requirements.

But, we'll see. There's still a chance Arizona will give him the freedom he desires.

Not that he didn't actually have that very same freedom here with the Saints ... Maybe other teams noticed and are unwilling to let him have free reign. We all see what shape SP left the Saints in. Loomis has to figure in some of what we see.

Perhaps he sees more than we think we see from afar. But, we are all experts in NFL management, so there's that. :D

Same thing as us giving 2 1st for players. Now are you freaking out on that? Draft compensation is draft compensation!! Still looking thru those rose colored glasses now?

Trading up two lower value 1st's for a single equivalent value first to obtain a player that you feel is worth the value is not compensation. Apples and oranges, halloween.

Would you happily trade two 1sts and other picks for a coach? Honestly.

Oh, and I'm not freaking out either way. LOL!

Absolutely, if I thought he was going to build my team up to compete for a SB.And have those players you compare apples and oranges to been difference makers. It's the same, picks are picks, where it's for a player or for a coach.

Yeah, build your team up with what? You just shipped off your best upcoming picks for no player in return. LOL!

So, you are actually expecting a team to give us at least two 1st rounders then, right? Yes or no?

Uhhhh, yeah, that's Lommy"s asking price. And I'm glad he's asking it. I hope he don't drop it next season either. It just goes to show what those 2fers do to a team. Payton bailed and if I was Loomy I wouldn't budge. And as far as the 2 for 1 deal goes I'll simplify things for you: If i had 2 dollars and the asking price for a coach or player was $2 asking price and I decide to pay it for either I'm out $2 either way. Simple math. Same rules apply to picks or money. And the only team that can afford Lommy"s asking price is Houston. Also goes to show how much power Payton really has.
