I think Payton Turners position on the depth chart makes him a candidate to be traded or even cut. He’s already being beat out by a rookie and undrafted free agent and he cant slide over the other side of the line and beat out a marginal journeyman for second string. A 3rd year 1st round pick probably penciling in at best as his teams #5 defensive end after they lose their #2 defensive end in free agency and only replace him with a rookie second round pick is a joke. It would be typical to trade him for another bust, who were the bust pick at LB or oline his year?

I am not worried about losing Benjamin. He was a flier for a depth role. There will always be players on that level available off the streets.

I don't trust rookies (Miller) to pass protect so we'll see.

Experienced guys like Fournette, Zeke and Hunt (probably too much) are still out there in FA land.

Football is such a grind.

Hopefully, the Saints sign Barr and/or Hunt.

Both are solid depth pieces.

I’d sign both. Barr is definitely better than Baun.

Do we need a 4th string RB other than for preseason? Maybe in the case of an injury ...

If we trade him now that he looks like he turned the corner after strong training camp practices, then we probably wasted money by not developing him after a slow start. Besides, what kind of value does he have after having sub par years two years in a row? He looks really good at camp and the media is always talking about his jump this year. Let's keep him and watch him take it to another level in his junior year. Lol

Turner and MT13 have the same problems. It’s not their abilities but their availability. When MT13 plays he balls. When Turner plays he balls. Turner got injured last season a second after making a tackle for lost yardage.

Football and Russian Roulette have a lot in common. A player can play ten years without suffering an injury that affects playing time then suddenly get a freak injury, while another player can get injured in his first practice, miss significant time, and then never miss another game. It's the chronic injuries that cause the real concern. Fortunately none of Thomas' (high ankle, toe) or Turner's (ankle, chest, calf) injuries have been related to other injuries they've experienced.
