Productive Career at Pitt ranking among pretty impressive company at the school for his career (i.e. L. Fitzgerald, A. Bryant, J. Baldwin)...

Too small a frame for a 6-2 receiver though; lack of physicality is a big concern; prone to injury, injured shoulder just this past October - I'd pass as Payton prefers big, physical receivers...

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Kyle Van Noy has really been sticking out for me. His versatility screams Rob Ryan just like Vaccaro. Line him up virtually anywhere as he can rush the passer and drop into coverage. His coverage skills would make him the perfect strong side OLB in a base 3-4. The perfect complement to Junior.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

day 2 / day 3 / FA to watch out for

Tyler Starr, OLB/DE, South Dakota 6042 249 4.82

he might destroy the 3 cone record at the combine for LB. Starr was reportable to have been recently clocked at 6.29. that is WR and CB numbers. i know the pats love the three cone drill as a guide to picking prospects.

Dontae Johnson; Cornerback/FS, North Carolina State 6020 195 4.58

solid in coverage and run support

Jordan Tripp, LB, Montana 6026 237 4.56

a player getting some good press. could get drafted higher than most think, 4.56 speed for an OLB will always get noticed.

John Brown, WR/KR 5-10 175 Pittsburg State

Sub 4.4 speed? in the later rounds or as a FA? Has a combine invite so we will see him at the beauty show. solid WR and return man at the small school level. might be a good addition to the KR team and depth as a nickle and dime guy against those jitter bug WR in the nfl.

Blake Bell 6051, 252 Oklahoma QB moved to tight end ?

now this is interesting. a TE that fills the depth chart as your #3 QB? just a curiosity in my book.

Brandon Dixon NW Missouri St CB/FS 5112 204 4.35 -

speed and cover skill enough to make a PS.

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

This is a super deep sleeper to watch for who received a Combine Invite:

Howard Jones, Outside Linebacker, Shepherd University (WV)
Height: 6' 2"; Weight: 229lbs.; Arm Length: 33-3/8"
40 yd dash times - Low: 4.44"; Avg: 4.54"; High: 4.65"
Source: NFL Draft Scout

Local news source reports him as 6' 4", 238lbs...

Source: Shepherd

So it'll be interesting to see what he measures and shows at the Combine...

He looks to be one of the fastest OLB prospects this year...

Re: 2014 NFL Draft

Hagan and jeanpierre, the draft is my favorite time of the year (outside of the football season of course)... So much so that it's like a holiday to me. I just want to tell y'all how much I love your contributions and the great work you both do scouting these players every year. I really enjoy the insight and all of the information. Keep it up fellas!
