Staying with my plan to move up in the top ten (10) with the best, most viable trade partner, Oakland; at they're only twelve (12) true first rounders...

Pick Pos Name, Alma Mater, Height, Weight

Pick No. 004 (R1, 04) LB Vic Beasley, Clemson, 6' 3", 246 lbs. (Via Oakland) *1

Other than Scherff, this is the only player in the top 5-10 to truly have the biggest impact on our team; he's gets the edge over Scherff as there is only one question mark on the offensive line, Lelito, at this point and the defense performance demands this pick...

Pick No. 013 (R1, 13) (Traded Oakland) *1

Pick No. 031 (R1, 31) LB Stephone Anthony, Clemson, 6' 2⅜", 243 lbs. (Via Seattle) *2

Move Anthony up to this pick as I don't think he goes through the gambit of another round of JAX, CHI, ATL, CLE without getting selected; this defense is in more dire need of an ILB as much as an OLB and Hawthorne has shown he's not the answer regardless of whether Ellerbe can have an impact...

Pick No. 044 (R2, 12) LB P.J. Williams, Florida St, 6' 0", 195 lbs.

Not sure this opportunity will present itself in light of his recent mistake, but if he's there, got to jump on this as we've got to get CB fixed on this team...

Pick No. 075 (R3, 11) WR Chris Conley, Georgia, 6' 2", 213 lbs.

Leading receiver in UGA offense that featured RB Gurley, he can flat out fly and provide that outside speed threat at the "Y" position in Saints 3 wide-out sets, really opening things up for Colston, Cooks et al to put the scare back into defenses...

Pick No. 078 (R3, 14) OT Rob Havenstein, Wisconsin, 6' 7", 321 lbs. (Via Miami) *3

Very much in the mould of Zach Strief; though he had poor measurables, they showed significant improvement between combine and pro-day; excellent candidate to tutelage behind Strief and could be ready by year three when Strief's contract expires; excellent depth regardless...

Pick No. 102 (R4, 03) OG Mark Glowinski, Georgia, 6' 4", 307 lbs. (Via Oakland) *1

West Virginia OL has gone under the radar with teammate WR getting all the attention, but has show impressive measurables, intelligence, and athleticism to move up and warrant this selection...

Pick No. 112 (R4, 13) (Traded to Seattle) *2

Pick No. 148 (R5, 12) TE Blake Bell, Oklahoma, 6' 6", 252 lbs.

Like another kid that once played TE for the Saints, he's a big body with a small sample size, but it's impressive; former QB developing quickly into a red zone threat who could more than offer a rather large bucket to throw for our QB to score in the end zone...

Pick No. 154 (R5, 18) (Via Kansas City, Traded to Oakland) *4, *1

Pick No. 187 (R6, 11) NT Deon Simon, Northwestern St (LA); 6’ 4⅜”, 321 lbs

Great big, raw body that with the right coaching would be the steal of the draft; Bill Belichick, who knows a thing or two about defensive linemen, even sat in and participated in his combine interview. Bunkley's last season and to jumpstart another candidate for the NT rotation with Jenkins, we don't have to go far for this in-state product...

Pick No. 230 (R7, 13) DE Brian Mihalik, Boston College; 6' 9", 309 lbs.

Definitely a development project that will require at least a year in NFL conditioning program, weight room and position coaching, has demonstrated physical length at times to be an imposing player and would do great to learn behind our 3-4 Defensive Ends, his projected position.

*1 Mock Trade - NO sends Picks 013 (R1, 13), 154 (R5, 18), & Future 1st round pick (or Gallette or Vaccaro or Jordan) to OAK for Pick 004 (R1, 04), 102 (R4, 03).

*2 Graham Trade - NO sends All-Pro TE Jimmy Graham and Pick 112 (R4, 13) to SEA for All-Pro C Max Unger and Pick 031 (R1, 31)

*3 Stills Trade - NO sends WR Kenny Stills to MIA for LB Dannell Ellerbe and Pick 078 (R3, 14)

*4 Grubbs Trade - NO sends LG Ben Grubbs to KC for Pick 154 (R5, 18).

Alternate Selections/Priority Free Agents:

TE Brian Parker, Albany, 6' 4", 260 lbs.
WR Jake Kumerow, Wisconsin-Whitewater; 6' 4½", 208 lbs.
LB Tony Washington, Oregon, 6' 4", 245 lbs.
OL Tyler Moore, Florida, 6' 4", 325 lbs.
DL Olsen Pierre, Miami (FL), 6' 4", 300 lbs.
Nice ... but wishful thinking if SP and company will go for that many LBers early.

Every year it gets louder and louder and even Payton can't ignore the need for linebackers...

Hopefully Ireland (Parcell's GM in Miami) will steer the draft so that the defense can be as balanced as the offense...

My All-In Mock Draft (Updated)

http://fanspeak.com/ontheclock/premi...t.php?d=breyuk

Pick No. 044 (R2, 12) WR Phillip Dorsett, Miami (FL), 5' 10", 185 lbs.

Amazing Speed and Excellent Tracking Skills while ball is in the air; don't want to deny coach his fun. But Damn, One...ONE DROP the entire season; just can't get that stat out of m head...

Pick No. 075 (R3, 11) OG Ali Marpet, Georgia, 6' 4", 307 lbs.

Coach said he wanted highly motivated individuals - well this guy through Hobart on his chest and wore it proudly and has improved, showing progression through this entire draft process - Senior Bowl, Combine, Interviews; he may not fall this fall, but maybe teams get scared of the small school, level of competition factory like they did with Armstead and he falls ten spots to us...

Pick No. 078 (R3, 14) OT Rob Havenstein, Wisconsin, 6' 7", 321 lbs. (Via Miami) *3

Very much in the mould of Zach Strief; though he had poor measurables, they showed significant improvement between combine and pro-day; excellent candidate to tutelage behind Strief and could be ready by year three when Strief's contract expires; excellent depth regardless; he plays with great functional strength and his Bench Press improvement shows he can get it done in the weight room...

Pick No. 102 (R4, 03) DE Corey Crawford, Clemson, 6' 5", 299 lbs. (Via Oakland) *1

Okay, three picks from Clemson?!? I don't care if they all came from the same household; these guys can play; Crawford has excellent size and speed and is getting overlooked because of the awesome talent that's already there; plus, he could come in and offer excellent leverage should the inconsistent Cam Jordan get unreasonable in his contract demands; bottom line this guy can play...

Pick No. 187 (R6, 11) CB Lorenzo Doss, Tulane; 5’ 10”, 182 lbs

His measurables have started to improve recently; but when you go back and look and his play on the field, what really stands out; he doesn't just defend, he's got a great set of hands and he'll actually INTERCEPT the ball; they're all these great defenders that can't seem to do that; and I wouldn't discount Coach Curtis Johnson ability to get in the ear of his former mentor Coach Payton...

Pick No. 230 (R7, 13) NT Deon Simon, Northwestern St (LA); 6’ 4⅜”, 321 lbs.

Great big, raw body that with the right coaching would be the steal of the draft; Bill Belichick, who knows a thing or two about defensive linemen, even sat in and participated in his combine interview. Re: 2015 draft??

Agreed.

I would trade up for Danny S or Vic as well, otherwise stay put.

Danny Shelton would be a good pick too and Cleveland at 12 is a threat to take him. We wouldn't need to climb as far for him.

Is there anyone you would be willing to trade up for?

Pace can't make that trade because he's building a 3-4 in Chicago as well...

That's why we've got to reach way up...

In my mind, and I failed to mention this in my diatribe, the Future No. 1 was used but it could easily be either of Kenny Vaccaro or Cam Jordan...

As I posted on another thread, Bill Williamson, who's one of the more credible columnist, sorry, bloggers for you whiper-snappers, has 'pondered' moves regarding AFC West Teams before only to see moves very close to what he suggested come about...

Point is, I don't think he just sat at his desk and decided to stir up things, he may have some information that he based this column on...

If available, Cameron Jordan would make sense for Raiders to consider - Oakland Raiders Blog - ESPN

I'm not sure at this point the Saints are convinced, nor should they be, that Cam Jordan has proved worthy of a max contract (ghosts of Will Smith coming back for me); so maybe we move Jordan and get an impact pass rusher (my mock has Vic Beasley/Carl Davis teaming up on one side) and keep outta the salary cap trap till the stats, body of evidence is there to justify those salaries...

It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

Re: 2015 draft??

Interesting read... Thanks for posting that link! That's an angle I hadn't thought about. As if there could've possibly been more draft day scenario's to ponder now I have another one!
