For a split second, I forgot the Saints signed FA Sylvester Williams this off season. Former 1st rounder, seasoned vet and has been a solid run stuffer. Maybe he shows well enough at camp to claim a roster spot & join the DT rotation (David O suspended) in game 1 vs Houston. You can never have enough pass rushing guys who can collapse the pocket and bring consistent pressure. |

FWIW, the Saints scooped up Tuttle right after the draft, so this could be a guy that Coach Nielsen saw at his Pro day has a plan for down the road. If there is anyone who knows & sees potential talent on that D line, it's Coach R Nielsen. |

Kayvon Webster is an upgrade, a seasoned vet and plays on special teams. I hope Saquan Hampton does enough to earn practice squad spot. Someone that could be worth developing. Can't wait for training camp :bng:. |

DE is looking pretty bad now that Granderson will not be in the mix. Granted, if we were relying on an UDFA to give us meaningful snaps then we were not in great shape anyway.
There was an article that said Vince Biegel is getting more pass rush snaps... But he doesn’t have great length. Maybe Porter Gustin surprises. Mario Edwards has said that the coaching staff very clearly stated he’ll be a 3-technique. |

With Granderson out of the mix in 2019, I'd keep an eye on this guy (Porter Gustin) at camp. Came from a big time program, has a non stop motor & similar frame to CG. Looking at his body of work, he sets the edge really well. Health issues is the knock on him though.

This ^^ ^^^ position hadn't been talked about enough ... Rez could probably break down better than most here but I believe the slot is an extremely difficult position on D ... guys can go across the field, in & out or even up the field. Not to mention you have to worry about getting rubbed off the line. We'll face some good slot (Cobb, Lockett, Kupp & Sanu twice) WR's in 2019. PRob & Chauncey Gardner are good problems to have at the nickel spot. |

Hadn't talked much about him this off season however I think he'll play a lot better for 2019. Especially since we are stout on the D line, not to mention we have a solid LB core. Year #3 is the true test Marcus. |
