Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Titans make sense for Clowney. Potential playoff team plus $15 MM to spend.

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
And the Vrabel connection from Houston. I’m almost certain he’s a Titan

According to my friend New Orleans is where he wants to be it’s just a numbers game now.

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Something else to consider concerning the cap. You can kill two birds with one stone by restructuring/extending players you want to keep for the long term while managing in what years those numbers will have the greatest impact on the cap. The same can be done with straight extensions. Player X's biggest cap years could be two and four and Player Y's could be three and five. Roster bonuses in those future years also give more flexibility.
If we do indeed free up the 2020 cap to pick up Clowney I would imagine Loomis would address future cap in those restructures at the same time. |

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Sure is a lot of f*cking work and drama to try and sign a free agent (Clowney) who didn't want to go through training (*not training) camp, sometimes you just need to #walkaway...

Rankins
The guy who runs back in coverage, flip tackles to keep him off the ground and strips a Steeler receiver for a fumble that ended a critical game for home field in 2018. That also destroyed the Steeler's playoff hopes. no way - keep him here he has been very loyal and a great player |

They paid Browner 7$M to be the statistically worst CB in the 2015 season. Not really stellar signings nor inexpensive. |

Anybody else see this story that we tried to pull off a sign and trade to get Clowney? Reportedly we had a deal worked out with the Browns for them to sign Clowney and trade him to us for Sheldon Rankins and a 2nd round pick. That would have been infuriating.

Re: 2020 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
I'm glad it didn't go through, Payton was willing to part with a 2nd round pick and 10M for this overrated player? Questionable decision making to say the least.
