When I read this I was totally shocked!

I'm not sold on his football intelligence or emotional stability. He has a nasty interception ratio to TD's and I'm nervous as hell about him ever being under center.

The man threw for over 5,000 yards last season and it's clear to me that Payton believes that he could give us something close to what Teddy did last year if Drew were to go down again. So, I'll just have to hope he never sees the field.

Related to the nasty pick ratio...Saints players have caught more passes from Jameis Winston than from Taysom Hill ....

Don't see the downside here

Best case- we find a QB that can hold the Fort when Drew steps away. He's never going to be a Brady or Brees but Eli took the Giants to two superbowl with the right team, hell Flacco, Foles and even Osweiler have led teams to the superbowl.

Alternatively a team gets a injury in preseason and trades for him or he draws enough attention to draw a good contract next year and gains us a comp pick.

At worst, the teams doesn't like what it sees and he gets cut or hold a clipboard for a while.

If you tell me Winston is the future here, I might have to fight you. But as a backup, on a reasonable price? Why not. Maybe he'll even have an epiphany, sitting behind Drew.

Well the Teddy Bridgewater deal worked out for us and for Teddy. So hopefully the " Powers To Be" are repeating their vision with Jameis.

On another note it looks like Mike Tomlin was interested as well.
Before he agreed to a deal with the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, Jameis Winston reportedly received an offer from the Pittsburgh Steelers.
