It isn’t even financially possible.

Re: Saints willing to consider Michael Thomas trade?
None of us knows what goes on behind closed doors or in the locker room. It could range from two guys simply despising each other all the way up to Mike having emotional and or mental issues. It could have already been put to rest or it could linger and have a negative impact on the team overall moving forward. It's not impossible that Mike won't be traded. Due to his talents and salary, the Saints will do everything in their power to keep him. Mike has been blessed to have Brees as his QB and Payton as his coach. It's a large part in what got him paid. If he had got drafted by the Jets, we would see him, if we saw him at all, as a good player on a bad team. He's not bigger than the Saints. He's not the MVP of the Saints. If he truly wants out, he will get his wish.

Anyone is on the trade block.
Payton traded Jimmy Graham directly after a 17 TD season. |

Re: Saints willing to consider Michael Thomas trade?
I agree with Cruize - we don't know what goes on behind the scenes.
My take: Front office "shops" players for trades at times that mostly never transpire. Happens all the time. I think someone, an insider, in another team overheard the trade possibility of the Saints shopping MT, and that's where the report came from. Every team has snitches, but the Saints have put a lid on their leaks in recent years. Will this happen? Nah. Could have been they were looking to trade someone else and the other team said, "sure, besides your draft picks, we also want Michael Thomas," and NAH, ain't happening. |

If he doesn't gel better with the coaches then yeah, I could see it.
