And it wasn't just Asomugha who underachieved and overpaid on that roster, lots of players underperformed. DRC, Cullen Jenkins, Jason Babin, Trent Cole, etc. Not take to make excuses for those guys, but I'm sure the coaching and locker room played a part in all of them failing miserably. I'm sure a scouting report on a majority of their players on defense last year wouldn't be too favorable.

At a discounted rate, while there still would be plenty of risk involved, it could certainly be very worthwhile to kick the tires on a possible deal.

No one even knows how much money he's asking for if he's already still going to get paid 4mil this season from the Eagles.

True. What if the asking price is 2 million? Added on with the money the Eagles are paying him, that's still more than what DRC got from Denver and on average from what KC is playing Sean Smith. It's also still more than what we gave Lewis. He gets to re-unite with his former DC on a contending team... that could lead to nice multi year deal the upcoming offseason.

True, a 1-year contract like the one you proposed could be really good for him financially, since the market was/is flooded with quality CBs this offseason his market value wasn't/isn't as high as it could be f.e. next offseason.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports free agent LT Jake Long is ready to leave St. Louis without a deal Friday, and that "multiple teams" are showing interest.
Long spent three days in St. Louis, but it's obviously not a good sign for the Rams that he's leaving without having signed on the dotted line. Miami is believed to be his other serious suitor, but it sounds like are other teams are ready to get in the mix. With a host of fallback options having come off the market during Long's marathon visit, the Rams may have cost themselves their best chance at upgrading Sam Bradford's blindside situation.

I'm no one.
Who are you?
