40+ pages of DCarr talk

This may surpass the Suh thread from a few years back.

Pick a team buddy.

The comment was directed more to Smash's "GTFOH Mr. Carr." reply. The "Y'all" was referring to the casual skimmers in general. The comments on the original tweet contained some of the same types of replies with several clearly indicating they had only read the headline.

As for why I posted it, diz, I post everything I come across that refers to the Saints. I'm hoping that people will read what's there and not just read the headline and take it at that. Even the most shaky posts have some smattering of real information that can be gleaned.

According to the score, the saints are finalizing a deal with Carr now.

Hearing the Same on NFL Radio.

There's also this. Getting Carr could mean Thomas is returning, as well.

Good. The drama is over.

Saints got their "upgrade" @ QB. There should be ZERO excuses for why this team can't win games on Sundays.

DCarr may or may not have saved LD Bell (Allen) & Pete's jobs in 2023.

We'll see.

Hopefully a change will do him good and he gets refocused and lights it up!

Make the haters cry and feel like fools lol

Hoping we turn this around and that the shortcomings of last season opened some eyes within the organization.

I'm ready

Now let's knock this damn draft out the park!

Yes I know We have many holes We have depth issues
We have Cap issues

We have coaching issues

We have coordinator issues

Game planning issues

Head coach with that deer in headlights look issues at times

yada yada..Earn your frikkin money Mickey and right this damn ship!

As painful as it was to lose those close games give me more but do better damn it lol

Man.... I'm loving this. Now if Loomy will go ahead and pull the trigger on Clayton Tune in the draft and develop him into the backup roll I would be ecstatic. The only reason I want be screaming for Grayson McCall here he's going back to school to my understanding.

I'm still hoping they let Thomas go and draft another WR in the 2nd round. Jalin Hyatt would be a fine replacement for Thomas. That's who Hooker threw to quite a bit if I'm not mistaken.

There will be excuses. There will be unexpected injuries. You don't assemble the oldest roster in the league without banking on the ability to blame everything on injuries if it doesn't work out. We will almost certainly make a splash trading up in the draft so we have as little depth and as few talented young players as possible, so if any 30-somethings get hurt we can start journeymen and undrafted free agents in their place and blame the season on that.

Happy about this. Frees up our entire draft to BPA. If we had a qb last year we would have won 10 minimum

So lets say by some miracle that having a QB that Thomas likes is the key to Thomas staying healthy after missing 40 of 50 games. Does that mean if Andrus Peat misses a block because someone in the crowd eating some Little Debbie Snacks catches his eye, and Carr gets hurt, Thomas will stop playing too? Is that what we need, a player who is only interested in playing if a particular teammate is available too?

Drafting Hyatt will make Thomas the forgotten man. Rookie contract, fresh legs, no drama, and eager. One thing I've learned about kids, they will play their hearts out. That's what I feel Thomas lost, heart. I wish him well going somewhere else, maybe Pittsburg and that freezing a$$ weather up there does him good.

Hyatt wouldn’t really be a replacement for Thomas. He’s a field stretcher. We’d be really thin and fast at WR.

O, Shaheed, Calloway and Hyatt I think would look excellent.

Demario - 34
Cam J - 33
Tyrann M - 31
David Onyemata - 30
Derek Carr - 32

^^ These are our BEST players .

Saints definitely need to start the youth movement on BOTH sides of the ball :bng:

I'm much more concerned at what we will do at RB than WR

Welcome aboard Derek! Will be interesting to see the contract.

We’re signing Carr and I like it! Now trade Thomas and load up at RB in the draft and resign JJ!!!! Draft a QB to learn from Carr!

I want 2 rb's in this years draft. RB's this year are pretty deep. Charbonett and the Tulane kid Spears would look great added to the O. I still trade Kamara to a contender for picks, someone could use his skill set, even with him not being able to run up the middle. Both Charbonette and Spears can run anywhere and catch out of the backfield with could easily make Kamara expendable. I also want an upgrade over Peat on the O line.

9 years in, he's 0-1 in the postseason.

You have to win a playoff game first :bng:.

Trading Thomas does us no good. It would create over $26 million in dead cap in 2023 or over the next two years in post June 1st. Cap savings would only be a little over one million. The best move would be to rework his contract with incentives and lower his 2023 cap figure to open more 2023 space. I believe that's going to be the plan.

I'm looking at pure seperation. Speed kills. It would spread a D thin easily on the backend. The deep ball would be there from time to time. Add 2 rookie rb's Clarbonett and Spears, the O could be hard to handle. Carr could thrive.

What about the former LSU WR Trey Palmer?

First things first. We need to give Derek Carr time in the pocket. O'Cyrus Torrence would be ideal to solidify the interior of the O-line.

But.... they said he could read quickly and deliver even more quickly ?!?!

And he has the ability and smarts to move in the pocket. But Dalton was able to get the ball out fast. It's just that he quickly got the ball out for a two yard gain when you needed five for the 1st. I lost track of how many times he did that.

I know you are being facetious Smash. Nonetheless, Carr needs time for his receivers to get open unless he's hitting MT on a slant. That's almost unstoppable.
