Yea and how many jobs has this douche had? Every week we hear about another industry he’s worked in that gives him insight into whatever topic we are discussing at the time. I call bull****.

Holy **** Matt Ryan is ahead of Brees for 4th qtr comebacks? That’s mind boggling since he’s probably also top 10 in 4th qtr chokes.

He's also ahead of Drew Brees in the skid mark category as well.

Fourth quarter comebacks is an overrated metric. There is something to be said for being a consistent performer and keeping your team in front more often than not, and not needing to mount comebacks (Montana at 17).

This "douche" has worked his entire life from high school inoculating and pollinating corn for Dekalb Industries in N.C., working with Mayflower moving, working nights at a donut shop in college at NC State, working at the college newspaper (The Technician) eventually as photo editor, photographer for ACC Sports Magazine, photographer for Bossier Press Tribune, freelance photography, managing a tuxedo rental shop, selling cars for Tate Dodge in Shreveport, working in both the photography and accounting labs as an aide at LSU-S while gaining my degree in Accounting, working at Arkla Gas (and other iterations) as a programmer and eventually a Senior Systems Analyst, working at Willis Knighton Health System with the wholly owned subsidiary HMO as System and Business Analyst and at the same time the WK Physician's Network as a software developer.

Is there anything else you want to know about this "douche"?

I like Williams and Maye.

Carr has said he is not going to accept a trade to any team, including the Saints, and is expected to hit free agency.

Would be pretty funny if they just release him and he signs with us anyway, then we've basically got a player without sending anything to the Raiders.

Wonder if he and the Saints orchestrated this on their 2 day visit?

Still think we need a rookie QB from the draft, either way.

You can see grit and character in Maye just by looking at that picture of him.

I'd run with him

All true but I think he signs here, Loomy give him the red carpet treatment.

Or it could be Carr giving the Raiders a big F-U! allowing a trade helps the Raiders and I'm guessing that his loyalty dried up with theirs?

Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr

Ross Jackson lays out a very reasonable contract structure for Carr and the Saints. Consistent with one normally written up by Loomis/Harley.

We’re projecting terms on a 3-year, $105 million deal (average per year: $35 million) with a $50 million signing bonus and $60 million guaranteed in total.

2023: $1.165 million base salary, $10 million signing bonus prorate ($11.165 million cap hit)

2024: $11.9 million base salary, $10 million roster bonus, $10 million signing bonus prorate ($21.9 million cap hit)

2025: $31.9 million base salary, $10 million signing bonus prorate ($41.9 million cap hit)

2026 (void): $10 million signing bonus prorate ($10 million cap hit)

2027 (void): $10 million signing bonus prorate ($10 million cap hit)
This would allow the Saints to keep the cap hit in 2023 manageable, plan ahead to restructure the roster bonus in 2024 and backload the deal. That way if things work out, the Saints could extend him to drop that massive 2025 hit into future years which they would add to his contract anyway.

Jackson's educated guess at what the final contract could look like. Seems very feasible based upon previous deals. I am sure, Smash, you are very disappointed that coaches' contract details will never be this open to supposition given that they have no bearing on the salary cap and are not required to be made available as are player contracts.

Ouch.

No reason why he should help out the Raiders. Screw them. Carr and the Saints can get what they want without having to trade.

Carr did what any of us in his shoes would do. Good for him.

And IF he comes to us, I HOPE he's willing to take the Brady approach and accept a team-friendly contract in order to build a winning roster.

Loomis better keep our 1st rounder next year that's for damn sure. I've lost all confidence in Allen. I definitely hope I'm wrong.

I don't know. Going 7-10 with your backup QB all season and missing 3/5th of your starting offensive line for most of the season isn't that bad. Disappointing, for sure, but not surprising.

If will be interesting to see what Plan B is for the Saints if DCarr opts to take his talents elsewhere. Injury-prone JimmyG? 2.8QBR Sam Darnold  ? 2Glove Teddy B? Jacoby "ham and cheese" Brissette?

And just say no to Baker Mayfield. He's not gonna work either.

IMO if the Carr deals goes south, just roll with what you have, destroy your 2023 draft & load up on younger NFL talent.

The Saints have a lot of older players. Youth movement.

The NFL is a young man's game :bng:.

If we don't get Carr and the franchise refuses to give Jameis Winston another opportunity, I'd prefer to just roll with Taysom at QB. Shane Steichen would have been the perfect head coach to bring in for him...but we stuck with Allen.

Re: I'd like to try and get Derek Carr

Plan B Jimmy G is the only one out of the alternates you posted. Go with what we have full Plan B.

I also think whoever gets ARodgers makes Jimmy G the next one up. If ARodgers stays in GB the Jets and Panthers or Las Vegas will be the mix for Jimmy G’s services.

If ARodgers is wooed to the Jets, imagine that fragile ego with NY media, DCarr sweepstakes has one less suitor competing for his talents.

Saw an article that Tampa might go the cheap route and possibly look into signing Mayfield. Another suitor out of the mix for DCarr.

Not being a homer but who in their right mind would willing choose the Panties. 🤣

Come on down DCarr. 🥹

I'm just concerned that Taysom wouldn't last the season the way he plays. If we don't get Carr I hope to hell they give Winston a shot again. He's as good or better than any other option out there right now other than Carr.

If Sean Payton or some other innovative offensive mind was here, sure but with Carmichael calling plays ... meh. See 2022 offense. Why the lack of screen plays for a stud RB in AK? Why is Taysom on the sideline when it's 3rd down? SMH

He's way too predictable as a play caller.

Just my random thoughts but hey, I'm just a couch coach/GM x-(.
