Love it. Best pass blocking LT in the draft. Scared that Carolina takes him @ 6.

Do y'all think Carolina trades back? Adds picks like Mortensen among others suggest? They don't have R2, R3 picks...

Definitely a realistic option for the Panthers.

But me think they will gamble on a QB. Darnold is still on the books for 2022, however it didn't stop them from going after Russ and Desean a few weeks ago.

They go also go BPA but that team needs a lot. Rhule's job is on the line.

It would be wise with their lack of draft capital, but looking at the draft order… I don’t see who would want to trade up.

Maybe teams that would want a CB1 like Derek Stingley, Sauce Gardner, Andrew Booth for their defenses?

Some were saying Pickett, others Willis by the Panthers...

Chris Mortensen was the guest on the Mel Kiper Jr. Mock 4.0 and suggested if Rhule still has control, they trade back, get some draft capital to restock the roster...

But the owner and GM apparently want to be involved with the selection - that could lead to Willis or Pickett getting pick; or it could be draft smokescreen...

Who are the nastiest players you want the Saints to draft? When I say nasty I'm talking about players like Kyle Turley and Nicks who were finishers with an attitude. Occasionally I read that certain players have a nasty streak. Who are they and can we get them in a Saints uniform next year?

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting

The Panthers don’t even want one of these QB’s in this draft. It’s looking entirely possible that not a single QB is off the board yet when our first pick rolls around.

Can see Atlanta taking Willis as they've got Marcus Mariota starting right now...

Also Seattle could be in on a QB; while I like Drew Lott, they may see an upgrade...

And don't forget Riverboat Ron Rivera and the Commanders, Carson Wentz may just be a smokescreen...

OT Trevor Penning, Northern Iowa. Rugs, the guy watches horror movies to amp himself up more for games...

Rugs, I'd missed these, one is the Senior Bowl against competition he'll face in the NFL...

Penning is going to get called for sooo many holding penalties in the NFL. He was flagged 16 times in 12 games last season against FCS edge rushers. Hope that can be coached out of him.

Good knowledge Chris. Appreciate the deep dive into stats/players.

Dontario Drummond - WR Ole Miss

Lower round bargain pick.

Coaches at the Senior Bowl also commented how quickly he adjusted some of his technique with some NFL coaching - Saints get him, Doug Marrone gets him...

Hey Smash, what is the benefit of not doing the drills unless you know you will look bad and on the record? I want to know why you respect his decision because I respect yours.

Drake's stock could only go down at this point with a disappointing 40. Sliding five, six slots is millions of dollars in the upper half of the first round...

It's a take on a joke with kids changing their minds when being recruited in college football. They all make decisions with their very public announcements and later change commitments to schools... then go on to say "Respect My Decision" .

This merely an extension of this joke with this WR's decision to not do things pre-draft.

:chug:

Case in point with Stingley, he upped his draft stock with a stellar time of his own. Drake must be scared.

BTW, good luck to Stingley. I am not sure he is worth the hype that high in the draft. But I respect his decision.

Well yeah, but I haven't seen anything resembling Allen when I watch him play.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: Draft Prospects, Scouting

Matt Corral has one of the strongest, most compact deliveries of this QB class, and it's what makes him my favorite (Pickett being 1A) of this class...

I'd be excited if the Saints got Corral who's a better prospect than given credit, maybe by the end of his first year to adjust from RPO to NFL QBing...

Willis can be the Truth, likely need two years to develop as he's raw and has only shown one read and improvise; league would catch on quick like ...

Really like Ridder and his disposition, but have little confidence in his accuracy...

Howell is Baker Mayfield, if that's your style guy...

Western Kentucky QB Bailey Zappe and Southeastern Louisiana Cole Kelley will surprise folks in a year or two...

That's right. I forgot about that. But I do remember watching star players lose it when they dropped in the draft. Now I know why they are so upset.

I hope the current coaching staff/scouts/GM isn't asking for his advice.

You aren't competing for a Lombardi with the likes of Chris Hogan, Tommy Lee Lewis & Kevin White @ WR. We don't have Brees anymore.

If a stud WR is there at pick #16 or 19th (assuming we don't move up), select that potential Day 1 impact player next Thursday night and let's go compete.

Just don't see HC Dennis Allen ignoring the WR position on Day 1.

While I agree with you Major and want them to take a WR in the first, he could have just been saying that later talent exists. Deeboo Samuel, DK Metcaff and Cooper Kupp were all second round selections or later.
