These two should have been swapped. "You can win with them" is more important than "intrigue with question marks"

Tier 3: Intrigue with Question Marks
Tier 4: You Can Win With Them

So now Carr is a tier 3 QB which is probably good for Top 12,at least. Fine with me!

Far more important to our success this season is the overall health and performance of our Oline and Dline

This right here!

Who would we cut loose?

SS32MATHIEU, TYRANN U/KC31Howden, Jordan 23/524Abram, Johnathan U/Sea
FS6Maye, Marcus U/NYJ48Gray, J.T. CF1838Monday, Smoke CF22

I think we need to give Monday a legit shot. Mathieu and Maye are starters. Gray is our special teams MVP. Howden is a highly touted rookie. Abram would probably be the odd man out right now, but who knows, he may end up being an upgrade to PJ?

Keep PJ on standby (phone call away). Let's see what Lonnie Williams (former Texan signed back in March) can do. IMO he is an upgrade over PJ.

But I trust LD Bell when it comes to Saint's secondary.

Training camp awaits.

Who here still has dreams/nightmares of the whiff tackle for a SB berth? Does this answer your question?

Speaking of safety play, I'll be curious to see what Abram can do here.

Could be a "fit" to replace Ceedy, especially considering the Saints only roll with 2 LB's.

This is the type of signing that may have been a result of that long TD play by Shenault trucking the Honey Badger in 2022. And also that Chase TD in the dome.

Abrams isn't a guy I want in coverage, but his tackling ability close to the LOS is solid, solid. He will thump you.

Training camp awaits.

Nice.

How often are you watering now? I noticed a small, brown spot a few days ago so I decided to upgrade with a Rain Bird 360-degree nozzle so that I had full sprinkler coverage in that specific area.

During the height of the heat wave (no rain) we had here, daily, since I have a couple of flower beds sharing the same zones. When it rains hard, as it did yesterday, not at all. Real rain is always better than irrigation. I can't wait a week to mow, however. It's really every three days, maybe four. And I raised mower height to 3 inches, from 2. Can't really cut it short when it's that hot. Also can't cut too much at one time. It'll promote those yellowing spots. While I considered mowing lower, like 1.5 inches, at the end of the day, one needs a level lawn, a reel mower that's not a push mower, and more effort and work. It's just like keeping one's hair short and neat, it's more work than you think.

Well, I wish you would send real rain our way

North Texas' dry heat has been a mofo & we are barely in July. Geesh.

I grew up in South West Texas and we got rain twice a year. We did have plenty of cactus growing that was green instead of grass though. Good lord, it was hot!

He has great hips and elite speed and it shows in that clip. I think he’s going to be dominant. We might compete for the best corner duo in the league.

And if either one of them miss any time then we've got a top flight backup waiting to go. :p

Every NFL team's non-QB MVP heading into 2023 season

From the article above:

New Orleans Saints: WR Michael Thomas

https://touchdownwire.usatoday.com/w...i_13650651.jpg

(Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports)

The 2019 AP Offensive Player of the Year hasn’t seen a full season since that year, and he’s played in just 10 games over the last three seasons. When Thomas is on the field, he’s still a dynamic game-wrecker, but coming into his age 30 season, it’s time to wonder if this is the new normal. Thomas is the Saints’ most valuable non-quarterback because of what he adds to the offense in his presence, and what is reduced in his absence.

New Orleans got a great receiver in Chris Olave with the 11th pick in the 2022 draft, and Olave has a lot of the traits of a true No. 1 receiver, but Thomas is more of a “Planet Theory” guy when healthy – there just aren’t many people on Earth who stand 6-foot-3, weigh 213 pounds, and have Thomas’ lethal combination of downfield speed, physicality, and route mastery. If Thomas is on the ball for the 2023 season, he and Olave could combine to give free-agent addition Derek Carr his best season to date – and the Saints’ first playoff appearance since 2020. — Doug Farrar, Touchdown Wire

After this season, I hope we at the very least answer the question of whether Dennis Allen is the right coach. I don't want him to lead us somewhere just enough where we give him another year despite him being mediocre. I'm very confident in this roster now. I feel like if he can't win with it, he never will win.

Vince Lombardi couldn't have won with all of the injuries we dealt with last season.

I hear you hitta. I want him to come out swinging with the knock out punch! If he fails, then I want him to go down in a blaze and garner us a top pick from each round in 2024. I don't want him fired at midseason though. He is a great defensive mind that I don't want to lose midway through the season, and I don't know who we have inhouse that can replace him anyway.

Keep an eye on Pete Werner.

Solid player but has had some injuries that kept him out
of games in 2022.

Hopefully our DEPTH shines at camp.

Quality depth (see Eagles, Niners or Dallas) is paramount in the NFL.

You are so right K. Our depth is young and unproven but they have potential to play like Ellis did when he stepped up last year. If our second year players have developed, as well as the benefit of getting production from this years draft class, then I'm feeling pretty good about our second string players. We are close to camp and should see them find their groove in the system early on working with hands on coaches. I expect our young players to pop at training camp. They were drafted for this system after all.

Side note - Ross Jackson is high on rookie WR Shaq Davis (S.C. St). A big guy (6’5) with hands.

More so than A.T. Perry.

AT Perry and Shaq Davis could push some young talent off the roster if they click at training camp. Davis is intriguing and is another big body like our offense favors.

Ross Jackson is one of my favorite sources/sauces for New Orleans Saints updates. He is good at breaking down the way that football is played, and where we fall short, as well as options on getting things right. I feel like he is more in tune with the team than most reporters, but there are a still couple of good local sports reporters who have good insight too. NOF is good but I don't subscribe to their print. I do enjoy watching Mike Triplett, Brooke, and Nick Underhill give their feed back on my boys.

Matt Moscone is solid but he doesn't like DC4 and therefore doesn't think we are going anywhere with him leading the charge. Like most fans, I think he will reevaluate DC4 and come around but his vibe isn't as positive anymore, so I don't tune in often. I want someone pumping sunshine!

Rookies from nine NFL teams report to training camp today

Including the Saints ...

It's time to get ready. Nutrition, hydration, exercise & overall health.

Excited to see what our rookies can do & if anyone "stands out".

Every time I see Darren Sharper do something good, even if it's in a Saints' uniform.... maybe even more because it is in a Saints' uniform, I cringe. He ruins a lot of the Saints' championship season highlight reels for me.
