What team would trade away a viable offensive lineman when there is a shortage of them on every team?

Edit: I could see a scenario of a team unloading a contract just prior to the trade deadline to a team in the running that had just lost a starter.

Slowly but surely the Saints are gaining a bit of respect.

Will MT regain this form?

I don't see why not.

Nope. And he doesn't need to. It's been 7 years and MT13 has gone through some stuff. This season he only has one goal: stay on the field. If he does that, then it's a successful season.

I'll agree that Thomas doesn't need to regain that same form to be successful. 80% of that form would still make him a great WR for the Saints. But the way I look at it his body hasn't taken the wear and tear expected for a player of his age with the minimal contact over the past three years. His strengths were never speed or explosiveness. They have always been his attention to detail. He runs brilliant routes. His hands have also been one of his biggest strengths and there's no reason why they shouldn't be as good as ever. He also knows how to take advantage of his opponent's deficiencies to get open. That shouldn't have disappeared. And his drive and determination seem to be as strong as ever given what I have heard from his coaches and teammates repeatedly this camp.

So, yes, I can't see why he couldn't get back to that same great level that we all once enjoyed.

Father time might not agree with you. He never loses. MT could get back to 80% though, and that is enough for me to get excited about. :D

In today's game Michael Thomas is still a young man. Many great WR's are just into their prime in their early to mid-30's. Thomas just turned 30 earlier this year and basically only has the wear and tear of a 27 year old on his body. Yes, eventually age catches up with everyone, but he should have five or six more years of elite play in him, at least.

A little more insight into the recovery process for Michael Thomas.

Wow the money the Vikings just paid TJ Hockeystick is ridiculous. Two teams robbed on one player: Lions spend a #8 overall pick on him and Viking make him the highest paid TE in history, and he is just an average player.
