Coaching was horrendous last season. With AK possibly missing 1/3 of the season and no MT, if cut or traded, I can’t see Carr or our offense being any better.
I agree with this. We got better at Qb, imo a lot better. Now it’s up to the staff to put the supporting cast in place. The way things are now we maybe a game or two better but we still aren’t a good team. Winning because your competition sucks doesn’t mean you are a winner.

Winning is winning. Especially in the NFL.

I agree the rest of the roster needs immediate improvement, not just for this season but well beyond.

Re: Can't Guard Mike

We have 7 draft picks and we signed our QB before free agency even began. The overall theme of doom and gloom is a little premature. There are excellent options at RB in free agency. Inexpensive options at that. There are some wonderful running backs in the draft. We’re in position to draft an interior defensive lineman like Calijah Kancey or a a guard like O’Cyrus Thomas. Antonio Johnson is a perfect prospect to fill the need at safety/nickel. Idk where this idea is coming from that we’re a million pieces away. You don’t have to be great at every position to win a Super Bowl. You just need to be healthy and hot. This roster is far from devoid of talent. This isn’t the Texans.

I wouldn't say we're that far away but we clearly need to get younger and there are real question marks across the D line, RB, Guard, WR, TE, Backup QB.

To your point that could all change in a single offseason. Unless it isn't.

I expect Onyemata to return and for us to draft a DT. When it comes to the D-Line I think Granderson steps up and bringing back Kpassangon was a good move as well.

Running Back is the easiest problem to solve. There’s so many great options out there. We could easily return to the RB by committee formula that brought us success back in the day.

Peat has been a problem. I see both rookies and vets that could stabilize that position for less money than he makes.

I don’t see an issue at WR if we’re reworking MT. I’m not declaring him dead like most of the other contributors.

We could definitely afford to upgrade at TE, but Juwan Johnson continues to make improvements every year.

Backup QB is an easy fix as well. Dalton. Teddy B. Rookie. It’s a lot options.

Can definitely see all this happening.

I remain optimistic about it all. It is only March

Good points Rez. Peat is our weak link on the O-line and was a terrible contract but he was the best available at the time when we had to solidify the position.

Saintfan warned us. And so did TheOak.

I haven't seen a post by St. Thomas, The Danno, ChrisXVI or BostonSaints in a while either.

Hey Major. Hope everyone has been well. Like everyone, I had to deal with the end of a disappointing season. There were a lot of things going on here a few months ago that were giving me bad vibes. Plus, I had to step out of the Saints bubble so to speak and focus on real world problems and issues going on in life. Sort of my off-season. For good or bad I should be more active here as the season moves along. I wanted to check in once Carr was signed to get people’s thoughts.

Guido is gonna Guido. You either feel like putting up with him or you don’t. And yes, he gets seen by those that want to ignore him because he inevitably posts a lot. Lord knows we don’t always see eye to eye, but I don’t always disagree with his football takes and It’s like having a coworker you don’t really enjoy. You still are working for the same company you hope does well, so you deal with it best you can. His posting so much does turn up a nugget here and there. He was also nice enough to send me a message checking on me while I was doing my “aaron Rodgers darkroom” time away. Thanks for that Guido.
