Worth noting that Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow will be released ...

Don't be surprised to see him in NOLA soon.

Hunter is 28 now but is a chain mover.

Chase Young is rumored to be visiting. https://sports.yahoo.com/pelissero-c...85759946.html?

How do you guys feel about him? Seems like another injury prone DE that isn't an every down guy.

That being said, he was a presence in the last Super Bowl opposite Bosa...

I'd feel good about it if he didn't cost too much. He is still a pretty good rotational piece that has an impact when he's playing.

The estimated projections for Chase is around 13-15M per season.

I don't think these numbers are too far off considering Davenport got close to 13M from Minny last season.

Boy did they get little in return on their investment :(

That and he had his best days with Carr under center. He might be the slot guy we need.

They haven't shared any numbers yet, but probably the same minimum type deal as last year non-guaranteed. Give Zander Horvath, the newest FB, a little camp competition. Maybe one will become Kubiak's Juszczyk.

The org can’t keep showing all this interest in mediocrity. It’s unbecoming. 😂

It's a good chance he signs elsewhere.

Probably a reason why they brought in that guy from Philly for a visit.

I think we should consider trading a couple of 5th round picks to the Bears for Fields! Nothing to lose and plenty of upside! He has nowhere else to go right now!

The Saints organization have hitched their wagons to Derek Carr for the forseeable future.

Mr. career 72-87 as a pro QB .

If the organization has hitched its wagons to the Titanic, its wagons are now submarines.

As an organization we can roll over $50 million potential dead cap hits year to year on a league average QB, trade picks to prepare for a potential transition to a younger more affordable mobile QB with lots of risk but high ceiling, or pay $10m+ a year to an aging wildcat QB, but doing all at once is nonsense. If we traded for Fields he would have to be either an option to take over for Carr or an extra weapon wildcat formations, but that makes no sense when we borrowing heavily against Carr's contract to commit ourselves futher to Carr where exiting would force a major rebuild and we already have $10m committed at the wildcat QB spot with Hill.

The only way it would make sense to take on Fields even as a cheap short term backup would be if we moved on from Hill. This would both create a role for Fields to be utilized while Carr is still the starter, and clear up salary cap long term for if we ever did want to transition from Carr to Fields.

I don't think Fields is a high end starting QB in the NFL but if we didn't have Hill I would not oppose him as a backup if he came cheap and the cost was later refunded in comp picks or trade.

Hopefully Peterman is more of a 3rd /4th QB to fill the Book / Bortles role in camp. I dont think he is a credible #2 QB in the NFL and he is not even young anymore and I would feel more comfortable with Haener or Hill under center, but we need camp players. I think/hope the articles reporting him as a replacement for Winston are wrong, we may replace Winston internally, or in the draft, but Peterman is not Winston, he is Bortles.

There is actually a principle named after him I believe.

Peterman spent the last two seasons with the Bears and he made one start during the 2022 season. Current Saints quarterbacks coach Andrew Janocko had the same job on the Bears staff during those campaigns and that familiarity likely helped bring Peterman to New Orleans.

Not overly optimistic, but perhaps the tree will grow in the right soil... or maybe it's just a stunted tree.

Peterman sucks, if Haener can't beat him out then he needs to be cut.

Corey Davis is coming out of retirement. 6'3 and supposedly a good blocker. Perhaps a good bargain option if we need another receiver.

I could easily see him outperforming Darnell Mooney who the Falcons just gave $39 million to and only costing us a few million.

Wilson Jr seems like a depth signing. Most likely to fill a #3-5 WR role.

Probably... he was a WR3 in Miami. He could be WR2, though.

They're not firing him when we win the Lombardi this year. That would be foolish.

I like the Cedric Wilson signing.

Strong in Dallas. Overshadowed in Miami.

Feels like a #3 who could thrive when someone is sidelined with injury.

Especially with the other 31 head coaches and staff whose planes all crashed head on into each other. At that point we would not be able to attract a better candidate than DA with at least 20 teams and several coordinator and staff positions being more attractive to the available candidates.

The DE market was ran through pretty quick. I’d like to add Chase Young, but on a 2-year, $20 million deal. Not too expensive and not tied to him long term. If we can’t get him at a reasonable rate then I’d go sign Emmanuel Ogbah and then draft a few young guys for the future. Mohamed Kamara would be a nice pick up in the later rounds. He was very disruptive at Colorado State and ran 4.57.

Um, what about the $28 million he would need to be paid?
