Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
I'm not surprised. I think it is a legitimate question. I'd like to have him back based solely on what he CAN do, but his apparent lack of toughness against physical secondaries makes him not worth the money he's likely to demand.
Make careful note that I am not saying he isn't worth a lot of money, just that he isn't worth what he's going to want. Whether or not he stays I have a feeling will rest squarely on how bad he wants to stay. If he brings his price down to something reasonable, then they won't simply let him go. But with the money tied to Brees, we can't pay top of the receiver market. Just top tight end market... Maybe. |
If I had a nickel for every time I heard that, the NFL would fine and suspend me.

He did it with out an All Pro WR and TE (Which Manning had), and a Pro-Bowl WR which Manning had. Drew Brees did more with less and did it with a lot worse defense to boot.
In 2011 Drew Dominated all in TDs, Yards, and Comp%. INTs Drew had 1 year with 22, Manning has had a 23 and 28 seasons... So yea... If you want to call me a homer because I would take Drew Brees in a draft, then so be it. He has the highest potential cap of all of them. Payton Manning's numbers this season for me are asterisked with *AFC had only 1 team with a top 10 passing defense that he faced and that was Houston... Drew faced Seattle X2, Carolina, San Francisco = 4 Top 10 Passing Defenses... and only 2 more INTs. |

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
So which role players the Saints lose this offseason while Loomis plays contract ping pong with Condon, this clown reeks of Scott Boras

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
Watching a replay of the 2005 Pro Bowl skills competition. Drew smoked every QB there on accuracy, even Manning.
Interesting comments.... Mind you Drew is wearing a Chargers jersey. Commentators: Drew coming off a near perfect season.... If Manning hadn't had the season he did Drew would have been MVP. |

Re: Jimmy Graham Contract
Saints have leverage on this one...
And if he goes to the ProBowl as a Tight End, his agent will have an uphill battle to argue ProBowler points and All-Pro points when it's as a Tight End... I'd offer six year deal total of 55mil with 20mil guaranteed... Otherwise, tag with non-exclusive option and find two more weapons with the first round picks... |
