We need to focus scouting on those corn-fed Universities for two big Steve Hutchinson-type guards...
Somewhere among Indiana's Dan Feeney, Chattanooga's Corey Levin, and/or LSU's Ethan Pocic would be a real good start... In fact, if it came down to one of these guards or a edge rusher, (can't believe I'm gonna say this), I'd take one of these guys... And two Day 3 sleepers to watch for are Gamecock transfer Cory Helms and, real deep sleeper, Indiana-PA's Ethan Cooper... The fourth round has been special for us on the offensive line... |

Is it just me or does Breaux not seem as good as he was last year.
I understand the leg injury and all, but versus the Lions on the 30 yard completion, he stayed with the receiver stride for stride, located the ball in the air and watched it go straight past him. For Christ's sake man, attack the ball or bat it down!! |

Both players physically and in attitude must offer something for the Saints to keep them around... And Lampman was boosted from the PS to the roster, so he's obviously valued... What little I did see, Lampman has adequate speed, runs good routes (for the ones he does know) and has terrific upper body strength to shield the pass trajectory against the defender or out and out fight for the ball... I'd like to see him get targeted by Brees around 4-5 times per game on the remaining schedule with a variety of looks for a healthy evaluation and to see if he could push Coleman... Zimmer, as strong as he is, has probably gotten by on brute strength like Onyemata had, and will need to be coached up with technique which may not be a bad thing having him so raw to work with (without bad habits/technique)... I'd also like to see a heavy dose of Murphy and Lasco these last three games for a preliminary tryout (Hightower is a free agent, again)... |
