It says a lot that the defense voted Laurinaitis a captain. Not surprising, but it shows the veteran leadership that has been missing. The same with Unger on the other side of the ball.

Agreed. Some guys just don't want to step up and take a leadership role; Vilma the player was not that special athletically when he arrived in the black and gold, but his leadership was missed when he wasn't on the field...

I feel sorry for him.
Its not like he wants to be injured or wont try and play. I probably have more sympathy as someone that has had to slow down and then stop sports since my mid 20s.

It started with bad knees from playing soccer on turf for 20 years. I'm sort and heavy (wasn't fat) and killed my knees playing. Then badly damaged part of my hip joint starting years of calcium growth that was removed (fists size growth on bone). Then finally at 32 nearly dieing of pancreaticis thats led to type 1 diabetes and waking up after 2 months in pretty much a coma without the ability to raise my hand 6inches and spending months to get back on my feet and still trying to do more than walk fast.

I'm not ready to give up on John Jenkins yet, especially not if he plays with the hustle he did sunday. I see us needing to draft a DE, LB, OG. Still hoping Landon Turner will turn out good for us and maybe replace Evans next year. We still might need to draft another RT.
I want us to get another QB too.

If you have the game recorded, please circle back & watch John Jenkins on that long run & subsequent score by the Oakland RB. He was single blocked by a center & picked the wrong gap which led to that breakaway TD :confused:.

This is a man the Saints picked in the 3rd round to be a NT (6'3 350+) to tie up two blockers got single blocked 4 yards off the ball.

I'd be very surprised if he is on this team in 2017. He is soft.
