Had a bad feeling Zeitler would end up in Cleveland. Between their enormous cap space and his familiarity with Hue Jackson. Hope all that cash is enough to ease the misery of one abysmal season after another after another. Good luck with that Kev.

Top run-blocking grade: RG Larry Warford, 81.8 (No. 16)

The play of rookie LT Taylor Decker was a pleasant surprise for this team. Decker was a player that didn’t overly impress PFF as a draft prospect out of Ohio State, but he was consistently solid all season, performing above-average as both a run blocker and pass protector in his first pro season. Larry Warford was markedly better than a year ago at RG, at least when it comes to run blocking, and Travis Swanson was solid at center. The biggest issue this team had was at LG, where the combination of Graham Glasgow and Laken Tomlinson simply took turns getting abused. As a pair, they surrendered six sacks, 10 penalties, and 49 total pressures, with neither countering that form with dominant run-blocking displays.

A lot of that came from Highland Park (Stafford) improvising after plays had broken down. Warford is a natural RG. Young, big and came cheaper than Zeitler. You never can tell but he might end up better. Don't forget what Coach Rousar did with our O line last year ;).

IMO this is a nice signing that we needed at the position.

wow! A nba kinda trade.....Texans paid a draft pick to relieve their cap.... Never seen nothing like that...Browns don't know how to develop their players so I'll be looking for that pick on the waiver wire in 3yrs

Warford's biggest asset is his youth. He doesn't turn 26 until this summer. Warford and Kevin Zeitler are the top two free agent guards, with T.J. Lang also in the mix, though Lang is going on 30. Warford was Pro Football Focus' No. 19 guard last season, receiving plus marks for his run blocking. At $9 million annually, he'd be one of the NFL's highest-paid guards

Larry Warford 28 bench press


STRENGTHS Big-bodied guard prospect with lower-body girth. Quick feet for his size, keeps them moving in pass protection to mirror his man and can adjust quickly to ride defenders penetrating gaps out of the play. Also plays with knee bend and has arm length to maintain distance from his man, will reset and punch with one or two hands throughout the play. Capable of getting off tackle block to pick up delayed blitzer. Flashes quickness to trap and get around the tackle to lead run plays. Gets down quickly to cut block and take out linebackers in the hole on traps. Hustles downfield to help out ballcarriers when needed. Plays with some attitude, brings some pop to his punch when helping his tackle against a pass rusher.

I really like the fact that Warford works with LeCharles Bentley in the offseason. He is the absolute cutting edge in O-line development right now.
I think this will be a very solid move for us.
