Y'all, everytime PFF or other football review cites NT Damon Harrison production/effectiveness, I swear I can still hear Hagan beating the table to sign him...

I still don't understand why we didn't go after him...

DT is still our biggest need on defense

Similar to Kamara, not as good; I'm thinking more of a ram-battering type like say, Mark Ingram... ;)

Looking at the RB Free Agent Market, it doesn't look to promising after Ingram...

Most of the RBs that have decent film are either the same age or older than Ingram, or they're RFAs...

Only one that jumped out at me is Jeremy Hill, but I don't care for his character and then there's the LSU thing that seems to bother Sean...

Also, there's T.J. Yeldon and Spencer Ware; Yeldon's only 25, but a hesitant runner between tackles and Ware, well, LSU/Sean thing...

I see us drafting offensive linemen and RBs this year with the few picks we have...

Sign him then. We need two of em. Mike needs legitimate help.

Watching that replay of Rams/Saints game #1, no WR could separate even without Talib playing in that game.

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency

The disappearance of seam route in Saints offense is concerning. Probably Brees best throw. Watson made some splashes but that's it. We need athletic TE that can catch. Realistically this is weak FA TE class. Some solid names but not legit threats. Maybe we will draft TE.
Dan Arnold reminds me of Brandon Coleman. Solid athlete for his position but those hands...

Anyone in FA you would like to see added?

I like Jesse James and CJ Uzomah (young w/upside). As you stated, no real "threats" however these guys have good hands and can block.

Tyler Eifert is probably the most talented TE in FA but this dude can't stay healthy at all.

Jesse James is solid option.
Jared Cook is still athletic monster. Could be nice addition for another super bowl run.
Tyler Eifert has all the talent in the world but injuries ruined him.
Can't say I watched CJ Uzomah enough to make decent judgement.

We should look to bring back QB Ryan Griffin if Teddy Bridgewater leaves in free agency. By all accounts he looked tremendously good in preseason action last season with the Buccaneers and now he’s a free agent.

If we do draft one we will trade up to get one of the best. Waiting until our pick in the 2nd will be taking a really big chance!

We should probably set aside a good chunk of money for a Michael Thomas contract extension this offseason. He’s earned a 5yr/$100m contract. There’s no chance he’s playing next season for $1.14m.

Unless... you know, he doesn’t want to stick around post-Brees.

Brees should still be around through that five year contract.

I could put 50 likes on that read it’s what been stalling this O for a while we were unstoppable it’s the slot that kept yard sticks moving when doubles on colston and graham we had an out

Anyone remember cam Cleeland te he we’re good but made of glass buyer beware : here’s a sleeper we could grab in later rounds there’s couple of te’s out of IOWA ,Hockenson y’all check him out he’s the beef with route , blocking ,and hands to boot . Then there’s Noah fant who is probably a clone to Dan Arnold’s style but better hands and can go out the slot they will be later rd picks I believe

Dude Cam Cleeland got hazed in his rookie year and pretty much lost his vision in one eye. That guy was huge.

It's a shame he never reached his full potential.

I remember the eye norm but that’s not what really hampered him it was nagging injuries tru out

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency

In my mind DT has now become #1 off season priority, then TE.

Losing Rankins is huge, Davison is a UFA & 80 grams (David O) will more than likely get suspended for a few games to start the season. Saints must find a way to generate more of a consistent pass rush.

The Feagles & Rams (both made it to the past 2 SB's) invested in a lot of coin in FA & draft selections on the D line.

Championships are won in the off season.

K Major 02-19-2019 07:57 AM

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Free Agency

I'd also add Charles Clay as a TE option in Free Agency.

He was recently released by the Bills.

Cardinals - Rodney Gunter is a FA.

Big guy (6-5), only 27 and hitting his "prime". He was very productive (44 comb tackles/4.5 sacks & 9 QB hits) on a bad Redbird team.

You are 100% on DT being the biggest need this off season.

I hope we resign Ingram.

BUT, if not, we better upgrade the O line and D line to the point of an impenetrable shield.

I can see the ATL or another division foe signing him just to break up our team chemistry...
