That's interesting on Nigel.

Kiko and Anzalone are both coming off serious injuries. Zach B is showing promise however he's still a rookie.

Or perhaps he simply looked old out there compared to the younger guys.

One thing to consider is that he is a vested vet which means if he is on the day one roster he gets the entire year guaranteed. If they liked what they saw as a roster depth player they may have a wink/wink deal to bring him back as needed on a game by game basis. As a vet he would also rather not be going through training camp if at all possible.

Something to consider. Payton has done it before.

We aren't that deep at LB'er even though we just cut Bradham because everyone else apparently looked good. I expect to see us bring someone in who gets cut that we have on our big board since this year we are all in. If one of our top LBer's tandem goes down we are screwed.

Does anyone else think we could make a trade? We've also got several quality players who will get cut that we could dangle as trade bait who could be appealing.

Read today in the advocate BR paper that Carl granderson has bulked up to 277lbs and didn’t lose a step and Payton has been pleased with it

New Orleans Saints announce roster moves

Cornerback Kemon Hall joins Saints, Bademosi placed on injured reserve

The New Orleans Saints have signed cornerback Kemon Hall (pronounced key-MON), terminated the contract of linebacker Nigel Bradham and placed cornerback Johnson Bademosi on Injured Reserve, it was announced by Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis.

Hall, 5-11, 190, comes to New Orleans after spending the offseason and part of training camp with the Minnesota Vikings after joining their practice squad for two weeks of the 2019 postseason. He was originally signed by the Los Angeles Chargers as a free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft out of the University of North Texas and spent Week One of the regular season on their practice squad. In the 2019 preseason, Hall posted eight tackles (six solo) for the Chargers.

At North Texas, the Calhoun City, Mississippi native recorded 120 tackles (89 solo), six interceptions and 28 passes defense in two seasons (2017-18) after transferring from Itawamba (Miss.) Community College, where he notched two interceptions and 45 total tackles and starting his college career at Coahama (Miss.) Community College in 2015. Hall was a first-team All-Conference USA selection in 2018 after finishing with 48 total tackles and five interceptions, tied for tenth-most in the country. His younger brother Treshon Cooper, is a defensive back at Northwestern State (La.).

Hall will wear number 25.

Carl Granderson is showing out in practice. He has the potential to really show out this season with an off-season not spent in jail.

Eliminate Demario out of equation and the rest of the LB corps has extensive injury histories.

Saints need all the depth (Chik fil A is a good special team player) they can get. Not to mention we just waived a solid vet with big game experience.

I'm not ringing the alarm however there is reason to be cautious... specifically at the LB position where the Saints have had a history of guys not staying healthy.

In the Steeler 3-4 defense he was a hand in the dirt, 2 point stance DE however he did see some action last season at LB.

Good special team player though.

Well, they just signed the LB from the CFL, so they're still tinkering with the LB group.
