What happened to Butler? He was the next big thing last training camp.

With the way the rules are set up during Covid we might just see them on the field. Hopefully not, but we've got a solid practice squad. I wonder is he's better than P Rob on the boundary. That he's our back up scares me.

If I were GM, Boundary CB and RB depth could be better and I'd be shopping Rankins...

Glad to see us get LeGlue back; thought he'd be a great LG and RT swingman...

Keeping Stevens, Washington, Bachie, Fowler, Throckmartin, Hunt, Hall makes this a solid group...

But with the restrictions on hormone supplements and replacements, it's really built into the League characteristics for the younger players to take the jobs of the older players once they age, slow down...

Really didn't think he'd be with us these past two years...

Well, we've had those WRs in Training Camp before - Adrian Arrington, Joe Morgan, Andy Tanner, Nick Toon, Brandon Coleman, Jake Lampman, Keith Kirkwood, Travin Dural, now Emmanuel Butler...

Something they're doing/not doing is just not earning Payton's trust to earn, or keep, that coveted Saints' roster spot letting Drew Brees elevated them to relevant NFL statistics and accruing NFL time...

Yes, technically Saquan was Waived with an Injury Designation, and then after clearing waivers will be moved to Reserve, Injured...

By doing it this way, believe he benefits with NFLPA accrual and they can bring him back vs doing it without waivers, he'd have to clear waivers if they wanted to bring him back later in the season...

Re: 2020 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

The Saints need to add another pass rusher to the mix.

Once Davenport goes down, smart coordinators (see vikes playoff) will run with authority to his side. Not to mention warrior CAM J is one year older.

Granderson is limited and Trey Hendrickson is a try hard guy. Having monsters off the edge is required ... Specifically once the playoff starts.

Try hard or not, Trey Henderson is really good against the run, he's lacked the physicality as a consistent pass rusher with the maulers at LT...

And the coaches seem to really like what they saw out of Granderson...

But agreed overall, they're not real happy with their DEs to go through another very public full-court press ending by falling flat on their face...

Can't help but believe it's stings worse then the Ndamukong Suh courtship...

Keep in mind Margus Hunt is there, just might've need more time with Saints rotation and likely will be active some time this season and he's very solid against the run and can kick inside on down and distance...

Played good against Minnesota. He's serviceable. I think you'd like to have a little more firepower in that spot.

A game changer who can make a play or two in crucial moments. Money aside, it's easy to see why the Saints pursued Cash Money Clowney.

It's unfortunate Everson Griffen chose Dallas over us. Only cost them 6M for his level of talent.

Calling it now. Davenport plays every game this season and records double digit sacks. In fact, finishes with more sacks than Clowney and Everson Griffin combined. Bold prediction!

Nice :bng:

Bold indeed but hey I'm pulling for Davenport. His ability has never been a concern of mine. Time to put Brady on his a**.

Less than one week away .. can't wait.

A step further ... two of those sacks come against Brady.

This is probably in the wrong thread but ...

Even though the Bucs drafted a big nasty on the O line, still a weakness in the trenches. Pressure, pressure, pressure on Tom. He needs to have happy feet back there.

Tampa was also suspect in the secondary last season. Mike T, E Sanders should eat ... maybe this will open up for things for Trey S/Cook up the seam.

We’d have to trade for Vernon. I know losing Clowney put a bad taste in Sean’s mouth. So I’m sure they are looking for a decent edge rusher. But I think for immobile qbs interior pressure is more important than edge rushing

He knows the system. In this COVID world he could be called on for a week or two. But, I agree, other than that he's pretty useless.

Now, both of them, Hill and Cook are listed as starters, and they can both reach clauses in their veteran contracts because of reaching this benchmark...

And if Hill gets off to a good year, the ignorant masses that elect ProBowl players may elect Hill if he's leading, in say TDRec; hitting that benchmark kicks in bonuses he wouldn't see splitting time with Cook...

Don't think this puts Cook's ego at ease being the starting TE, if anything, with Trautman coming on, he'd better put up or get out the way...

Is this maybe the way to go with Marcus Williams entering the last year of his contract? PJ Williams always should have been a safety.
