Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints
Wonder if we see a Taysum extension
I could see him getting a new 4 years deal but being paid in that TE/WR 2 sphere around the 9/10ml mark. I guess it all depends if he feels he is a starting QB or if he knows that being a offensive weapon and back up QB for the Saints is best long term. Could take a big chunk off the cap. |

For all the amazing cap maneuvering and work the Saints as an organization have been behind, I just don’t understand that contract. It baffles me, lol, yes, I did say “baffles”. No way I pay him anywhere near 8 digits in an extension. Maybe $4.5M per year, somewhere in that range, not much more though. Edit: Grammar |

I'm not talking of them investing in him as a QB but as a offensive weapon/back up QB. As a all round weapon and part of the QB room I think you can justify a 9/10ml a year deal. It depends if he still thinks he's a starring calibre QB

Trev Siemian would be a capable back up under Payton. I say deal taysom for draft picks. He goes back to special teams expert, with capable QB next season.
