Re: 2022 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
[QUOTE=ChrisXVI;951199]The only day three player we’ve drafted in the last five years who has made any contribution is CJGJ. If we want to expand it further, you can add Onyemata and Kenny Stills to make a grand total of three in the last ten years.
We draft a guy like Landon Young and people think he’s going to be our starting LT of the future and one year later we’re using a first rounder on a LT. Stop stressing about day C |

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
For what it's worth, the Saints gave up the most punt return yards in the league last season. These picks in the mid to late rounds of the draft addressed that. Alonte Taylor should be a good gunner and I'll bet that we'll see a lot of Smoke on Special Teams this season.

When you engage indirectly replying to the "cloud" that's what happens. I'm the only that voiced a difference opinion regarding the draft in this space. I mentioned the trading away ALL our 3rd AND 4th round picks. Someway somehow you flipped that to a Landon Young being the reason people are tied to DAY3 picks so let me correct you. ROUND 3 AND ROUND 4

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
In a peculiar kinda way, I feel like the Saints got 3 1st rounders in this draft.
Olave, Penning & Payton Turner. How many games did he play in 2021? Like 3? Essentially a unknown. |

He played in five, but only one of those after week five and only had 15 snaps on defense in that one. Never really had time to get his feet under him.

Re: 2022 NFL Draft: New Orleans Saints
In the games where Payton Turner actually hit the field he flashed some potential. My philosophy, if my team is already talented I'm trading the picks for players that I want or I'm trading up to grab a player I desire. We don't have a lot of holes on this team. I don't take any issue with the Saints going up to grab Olave. There aren't many issues with this team. Interior offensive line maybe? But nobody can have a perfect team. I say go and get what you want and make sure you turn it into a ring.
