I wouldn't mind him as a WR4 or 5. He's a good blocker and knows the system well. If we don't retain Thomas we'll likely add another legit weapon via free agency or the draft. The fact we are pursuing Carr just shows that they remain in it to win. I'll also take Callaway as that deep depth.

If they are in it to win then why would they bring back Tre Quan Smith? Wide receivers are supposed to be able to catch the ball not just block. They're not called wide blockers for a reason.

He's not as bad as you make him out to be. He was targeted 27 times last season and had three drops. He was targeted exactly 100 times the previous two seasons and had only six drops. Tre'Quan has never caught fewer than 63.6 percent of his targets and hauled in 70.4 percent in 2022.

In comparison, Chris Olave had seven drops alone last season. He caught only 60.5 percent of his targets.

You see, Rugs, perception is not always reality.

I’d rather we have our 2 TE’s converted from WR do Smith’s blocking.

Go find a TE, RB & G in Free agency.

The draft would also be a good starting point for a QB.

Youth movement time. It’s not like the Saints are one player away from contending in late January 2024.

Nawhhh man ... Let's try to be $100 over the cap for next year. We're truly THAT close if we're to believe the tea leaves. Our coach rocks and is trending to try make the HOF. Not sure just how long he will try or how long they will let him, not that it matters.

Funny how some like to hold on to dead weight, below avg players then complain he's not getting open on Sundays.

Improve the roster every off-season. Trequan should have been replaced 2 seasons ago.

He was a swing and a miss but let's give him another shot at blocking

And you wonder why you were 7-10 last season. Michael Gallup was there in the same draft class, same round. Scouts missed that one.

Improve the depth if you want to compete with the Niners, Eagles & Cowboys when it counts.
