Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread
Bobby Hebert interviewing Drew Brees … of particular interest in this clip is Drew Brees talking about how the offense and defense battle so hard in training camp it affected the teams mindset to opponents during the season.
Another interesting take on turn overs and why they were few and far between. |

Re: Official 2023 OFFSEASON Thread
Hard never really thought about the direct correlation between the two but makes absolute sense. Now the way our offense has operated over the last 3 seasons, granted due to unprecedented injuries but also a huge lack of talent level in the skill positions, forced the offense into run centric time of possession game planning. We just could not attack past 10-15 yards.
When Drew and the offense was putting up 40 burgers and 350-400 yard games our opponents had to be aggressive and take risk whereby our defense could max pressure, man coverage forcing more opponents into no risk no biscuit game plan adjustments. Hopefully we see a move this season to be more aggressive on offense putting more pressure on opponents defense and when successful forcing opponents offense into having take more risk to keep pace. Brees was so good at recognizing that the safety would be creeping the box or on his toes rather his heels and that all it took and Cooks, Devery and Meacham were off to races and the safety was 2 steps too late. |
