(Looking for the silver lining).

Here's a list on spotrac.com of the available free agent offensive linemen. Most of them are in their 30's. Even 40's.
Finding O lineman is not my responsibility.

But recent draft trades that didn't pay off could've been better spent on O line depth.

And who's to say that any players drafted with those picks would be any better than what we already have as developmental players at those positions? As someone else pointed out here finding quality offensive line depth isn't as easy as it is made out to be. I'm not saying it wouldn't be great. What I am saying is that they don't just grow on trees.

Here's what we have now. We usually keep nine on the 53 man roster and a couple on the practice squad.

Don't be surprised to see us use one of our second round picks on another OL next year. We've invested a lot in the OL and the return has been subpar.

Penning is nasty and is a true road grader.
Hurst is going to be a better guard between Penning and McCoy than Peat.
McCoy blocks well on the line and out in space.
Ruiz is the biggest surprise to me. He has a good punch and uses really good leverage.
Ram is Ram. Hobbled but dominant and still gets out to block down field well.

Peat is well,.....
Saldiveri looks promising.
The rest are questionable. Yeah. Yeah. What do you expect from depth players? Yada. Yada. Yada.

We’ve invested pretty high in the D line too with mixed success. Take away Jordan then you have guys like Turner and Davenport that were misses too. Foskey and Bresee are wait and sees.

James Washington is the first causality of the deep WR corps it appears. It will at least give him somewhere else to catch on. Classy move to let him go early enough to give him a better chance elsewhere. Also the balance sheet move to the Darrel Williams signing.

Or maybe not showing enough effort to come back for the ball on that Haener INT.

But yeah, these positional coaches see (Perry is hungry) it all in the film room so there's that.

Yeah, even Brees called him out on that.
