Seer, true story; got some customers down and they've got some BP guys with 'em from Merry 'ole Angland...

They ask, do you have a good fish 'n chips place round here?

Take them to a friend's place here in Houma and we do a fish fry and we do some black-iron red fish and some grilled shrimp...

Best response ever in their accent - oy, this is a game changer...

Then we start talking Saints football, the re-vamped D, Brees breaking for records, anyways...

one of them boys called his wife and said we've got to take the transfer here. :bng:

Great point! We've got some youth and that means stamina and hopefully no breakdowns in the 4th quarters...

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

Ginn shows up: Not a lot of action last week involving wide receiver Ted Ginn. That wasn’t the case this week. The wide receiver dropped one pass but otherwise was one of the standout players of the day. He twice beat P.J. Williams down the sideline on go routes, got the better of Harris on a post, and then beat Delvin Breaux on an out route. Ginn is still fast, and while he might drop a couple passes, he could be a good addition to this offense after trading Brandin Cooks to New England.

get use to reading this "dropped pass" it should be his middle name

Tedd "Butterfingers" Glenn

Here to him turning a new leaf in new orleans

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

The only problem being, every one of Ginn's drops'll be worth about six of any other receiver's due to his past rep.

This is correct. How many other passes were dropped in that session by others. I will guarantee you that there were several.

Cooks, whom I am a big fan, even had his share of drops that were clear opportunities to score...

Now it may be that Ginn had untimely drops as Fleener had last season...

But between Brees at QB, Payton's schemes/playcalling, and Curtis Johnson refining his skills - Ginn will never have a better opportunity for a renaissance!

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

From first looks, Robertson, Anthony, and Te'o (as he gets healthy) are all getting looks at the Mike linebacker - though Klein is the favorite...

Ellerbe and Anzalone are pretty much the WLB group...

...though I wouldn't be surprised to see Kikaha in that WLB spot rushing the passer and not on the end...

But really, 6'6" and 220? Are they looking at him as a WR or TE?

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook

Eventual Brandon Coleman replacement maybe? Dan Arnold has better measurables in almost every category except 40 time (but Arnold has the faster 10 yard split) and strength (but it's not like Coleman actually uses his strength to outmuscle anyone.)

A year on the practice squad and maybe we have something.

DE (2) 57 - Alex Okafor, 91 -Trey Hendrickson (R3, P103), 97 -Al-Quadin Muhammad (R6, P196), 58 - Obum Gwacham

Good battles here. Okafor can be disruptive IF the man stays healthy.

We'll at least have live bodies behind him when/if he goes down...

Have Kikaha as a LBer because the Saints also list him as a linebacker...

Well, which was it? Hard to believe what you read when they are saying completely different things.

Exactly. The team, through media, has warned fans and beat writers not to get too caught up in who's playing where just yet...

I understand they want to look at the guys in different formations to find the best fit...

But, I've got to wonder if one series per day is enough to evaluate a player...

I firmly support competition, but you've got to really see some reps to know what you have...

And I'll offer this - Stephone Anthony was a beast his rookie season at the MIKE for the Saints; he should get some serious reps there again with Mike Nolan now on the team...

Nolan has a proven track record with front sevens and defenses and I believe D.A. will need to swallow his ego a bit and give Nolan (and Nielsen) room to get the front seven fixed...

I wonder how much that has to do with the limited reps allowed under the CBA? That has to be addressed the next time around. Even some players are questioning the policy.
