Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Players that have flashed but still on the outside looking in...
QB 18 - Garrett Grayson; the offseason work has made a big difference, but is it enough? too late? RB 38 - Travaris Cadet; Between Lasco on ST play, Kamara on 3rd downs, returns; Cadet's been outstanding in a no. of positions and may finally be replaced by a couple of players WR 15 - Jake Lampmann; maybe he overtakes Fuller with outstanding ST play? Will his ST play warrant a 6th WR? OL 77 - John Fullington; his size and athleticism allows him to play three positions on the OL, but can he get enough reps to improve to the next level? OL 69 - Khalif Barnes; workhorse who's worked himself back into decent shape, but is expendable with Ramczyk and Armstead possibly returning? OL 63 - Cameron Tom; Will LeRibeus and Allen stink up that much and can he get back on that bad ankle sprain? TE 86 - John Phillips; an untimely case of appendicitis may have cost him a roster spot; can he recover in time? SR 87 - Tommylee Lewis; the surprise of camp last season; already carrying strikes because of his size, now Ginn, Kamara in the picture... |

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
I been beating the Fullington drum since last preseason, and IMO he would make an excellent backup at LT or LG.
Wish they'd give him more reps. |

I want Orlando Franklin to outperform Andres Peat...I really prefer him at tackle.

Nick Underhill wrote a piece on Saturday's practice and he mentioned Okafor a couple of times. One where he beat Ramczyk on his first rep and also had a sack in team drills. |

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
That's good. In my mind, Okafor is the wild card this season. I've been thinking that if he can produce at a high level (I can dream) lots of other pieces of the defense could fall into place. Last season, teams really didn't have to think twice about going deep on third and long situations. I've been disappointed so far that we haven't heard much from him.

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Saints sign RB Darius Victor, agent confirms
The Saints have another back in their stable The New Orleans Saints have another running back in their rotation. On Tuesday, the team signed rookie Darius Victor, his agents confirmed. Undrafted from Towson this year, Victor was a part of the New York Jets’ and New Orleans Saints’ minicamps but was not signed to a contract by either team, so this will be his first opportunity with an NFL team. As a collegian, Victor scored 37 all-purpose touchdowns, rushing for 3,144 yards off 588 carries while adding 138 yards on 18 receptions. As a back, he averaged 5.4 yards per attempt. He enters a crowded backfield already occupied by Adrian Peterson, Mark Ingram, Travaris Cadet, and rookie draft selection Alvin Kamara, all of whom the team says have a role to play in their offense this season. ___________________________________________________________ Got to fill Franklin's spot with someone. |
