And do you wait till his trade stock will yield only a fourth round pick vs a second round pick? Look, the last three drafts have had several quality offensive linemen, Big Ten Corn-Fed Milk-Farm boys right there at the end of the first and through the first half of the second round... We'll get a younger, four-five year cap friendly linemen that can play right tackle which is a position that is a helluva lot easier to field than a left tackle... Armstead, for all his tremendous athleticism, hasn't played a full 16 healthy yet... |
It's not that my way is the right way, I just make the right way my way...

We don't have nearly the depth at RT and C right now and having to go after a high dollar FA isn't a good move in my opionion. The higher draft picks should be spent on the D side of the ball and a late 1st early 2nd should go toward a TE or WR that don't have stone hands.

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints: Roster Outlook
Regarding trading Armstead next offseason...
PRE-6/1 TRADE 2018 Dead Cap: $10,600,000 2018 Cap Savings: $2,900,000 POST-6/1 TRADE 2018 Dead Cap: $3,200,000 2019 Dead Cap: $7,400,000 2018 Cap Savings: $10,300,000 It looks like it's possible if we wait for OTA/training camp injuries to pile up around the league. Though, by that time Armstead himself could be injured again. |

Who knows what kind of mismanagement these now fired orthopedists have done with Armstead's injury.
