Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Its probably fair for both teams looking at it. They get a proven talent cheap for 2 years and get to move up 7 spots in the draft for the number 5 pick.
Saints jump straight into the top 5 and still get a mod rounder where they can get a good talent. Or even trade back for a few more picks with either. Jumping Carolina and having LF on the board at 5 could really be turned into a few picks. Maybe even bring the Eagles into the frame for a WR as they have |

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Cooks is one of the best in the league. He is young and just starting to hit his prime. If I am the Saints I hold out for quite a bit. Good for us that we are finally making trying to force good moves or just walking away.

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
I just now got over losing Jimmy. I don't want to lose Cooks but If he is having a bad attitude about touches I understand. I hope we don't just get Pats #1. I would hold out for the best possible deal and pray to God we do not choke on draft day.

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
#5 and #18 for cooks and # 11 The saints could end up with Solomon Thomas and OJ Howard
|
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
I will be glad when this circus is over.
At the end of the day a player's trade value is whatever the highest bidder is willing to give up. |

Cooks and #11 for #5 and #18 sounds great. I wouldn't ***** about that at all.

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
I read this article and this doesn't seem to make a lot of sense, well at least not the one part. I could see us taking the 18th for cook, although I'd try to get a first and second. Anyway this article says 18 for cooks straight up or cooks and our 11th for their 5th. I don't really think the second scenario makes any sense. We lose cooks and only move 6 spots for it...

Cooks + Pick 11 for Titans Pick 5 and 18 ^ That would be highway robbery on the Saints part in my opinion. I pray that's the deal we get. If not, I'm cool with us sending Cooks to one of those AFC teams in the 10-20 range straight up. Either way, he has to go. He's a cancer with a contract coming up. |

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Teams wont give up really high picks for a player that isnt a QB maybe a top notch pass rusher.
Cooks isnt even a true number 1 WR He has 2300 yards and 17 TDs in 2 years. He isnt a Calvin Johnson,Odel Beckahm,Julio Jones or Antonio Brown putting up monster numbers He will want 12ml a year after this year and he isnt worth a top 10 pick to most teams. Why would you give up multiple picks when you coulf go and grab Pryor,Jeffery,Marshall for nothing |
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
The value needs to be there. What the Saints are doing isn't common. Even last year when NE traded Jones, he was in the last year of his deal. We are trading a top 15 WR with 2 years left on his rookie deal. That's the absolute pinnacle value he will ever have even if he actually becomes a better WR later.

cooks+ 11 for 5 and 18, would mean we received 18 and pick 45 for cooks.(not literally, just points from the draft pick value) It isn't that crazy |

Julio Jones Odell Beckham, Jr. Antonio Brown DeAndre Hopkins Dez Bryant A.J. Green Jordy Nelson Demaryius Thomas Mike Evans T.Y. Hilton That's 10 off the top of my head. From there we could debate if he's better than Jarvis Landry, Amari Cooper, or Emmanuel Sanders. I don't think he's better than Michael Thomas though. Not to mention, he's an extremely small receiver...but he's no Steve Smith. |

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Cooks will be incredible for another team.
Picks 5+18=23 23-11=12 round for Cooks who is a seasoned veteran with PROVEN experience. He is worth the 12 pick in the 1st round at age 24. Now we threaten to draft a LSU RB then bankrupt Carolina him. LOL What do you think, they can afford to give? Sounds great to me. Trade our A$$ off and rebuild the defense 4 picks in the first 2 rounds. LOL http://www.incrediblethings.com/wp-c...ted-cats-2.jpg |
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
SO with the 5th pick in the draft our choices are:
- Jamal Adams, S, LSU - Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU Could we live with 11 and 18 being: - Taco Charlton, DE, Michigan - Haason Reddick, LB, Temple Riddick had an insane combine. |
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Maybe the Eagles know where they stand in the hypothetical Cooks talks?

he was 7th in yards last season and that is his third year in the league. plus, he did that while another receiver on his team was at 9. he's a top 10 talent, no doubt. and that's a respectful disagreement |

I would put him above Evans, Bryant and Hilton on that list. Nelson stays injuried. And I would like to add cooks is not a #1 wr. Everyone on that list is a true #1. Cooks is a slot and the best in the league at it. |

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
What is this constant media push for Cooks to Eagles.
They can include Barwin in the deal. The mans just about to turn 31 at the start of the season and is on nearly 10ml a year. The talk is they may cut him too. Why take a 2 and Barwin. Let them cut him |

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Good cause i dont want Barwin unless its a cheaper option as a FA that can be backed up by a elite pass rusher in the draft
|
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Either the Saints asking price is too high for the Pats or it looks like we may have a trade with the Titans...
|
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
I think the Pats will come into play, but only after somebody panics when they miss a QB in FA and overpay for Jimmy G.
The thing is the Pats must be a nightmare to deal with. They tell there own players youll have to accept less to stay here because we are the pats and we will compete so we pay less |
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Oh I'm sure the Pats are a pain in the ass. They probably offered #32 and got mad that the Saints didn't take it. I can only imagine them as stuck up, entitled jerks lol. I always have. Lol.
|
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
I hope they hold out of trade til we can get at least a mid #1 pick and 5th rd pick. ABSOLUTELY NO SWAPPING PICKS AND 1ST RD

Graham can bring it off the edge & is a impact player. I could see why the trade talks have slowed down somewhat. Really good player.

There is no way we should be giving anything up in the trade Graham and the Eagles 2nd Cooks and the Saints 3rd maybe |
Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
Brandon Graham will be 29 next month. Cooks is 23. So they get an impact player for 5 years and we get one with maybe 2? No way, even with a 2nd.

Re: Brandin Cooks Trade Talks
I'm having trouble embedding the twitter from John Hendrix but ...
I'm told the #Titans offered the #Saints the No. 18 overall pick for Brandin Cooks, and it was turned down, per source |
