***CORRECTION*** For those of us in the Central Time Zone (New Orleans), that is Noon...
JoeSam League guys should be familiar with time zones, finding autodraft an hour into the draft has ensured your donor status for the year... |
Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
I am on a wait and see. Yesterday was not encouraging, but I want to see what we hear after that and what we see Sunday. Getting the snot beat out of us in practice doesn't necessarily mean a thing, but Sunday if we don't like competitive or at least solid Some worries will creep in.
Want to see what our dline brings sunday. I am on a wait and see. I am not going to sit here and make a bunch of excuses for piss poor play and I am not. yet, going to scream the sky is falling. But let this be a lesson to some- losing two players on your offensive line matters. Losing starters hurts. I was glad to hear Ram did a really good job and it is nice to know Unger will be back. Those two things are worth their weight in gold |

Another player who has been quiet in OTA's, scrimmages, pre season thus far ...
Coby Fleener. I joked a few weeks ago about him taking a big hit in practice from Vonn Bell that has him "gun shy" but I'm starting to re think that Fleener is nursing some type of injury. It's time to bring it. Of course I'm not expecting him to be Jimmy Graham great but at least Ben Watson good. Minnesota (game #1) will be here before you know it. |
Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
what is anthony's injury?

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
Old Zach had a rough day against Bosa yesterday - shades of Ahmad Brooks...

Return of the Mack - Got a sneaking suspicion we won't see the results from yesterday with this guy...

My Hero, Curtis Johnson, with the Whoopin' Stick, beating those boys into game shape...

That's B.S. at the very least Fleener needs to be on the sideline playing catch with a 12 year old so he can learn how not to drop the ball. |
Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
Marcus Williams with a pick, Al Quadin Muhammad with 2 strong wins and Lattimore breaking up several passes.
This is what I like to hear. |

Secondary sounds on point today. Looks like Lattimore is just fine. If his hammy holds up he could be the real deal.

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
Starting to think this team is better coached and better talent than previous. Could win some games this year

DLC Ryan Nielsen > Hau'oli Kikaha, Sheldon Rankins, David Onyemata, Trey Hendrickson, Al Muhammad... LBC Mike Nolan > Stephone Anthony, Alex Anzalone So that's three new position coaches with a definite uptick in the performance of those players... Not too mention how much better A.J. Klein and Alex Okafor will improve as well... Not holding my breath or holding it against Curtis Johnson, if Ginn still doesn't gain reliable mitts... |

Now these are the nuggets that I truly appreciate...

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
Starting tight end Coby Fleener headlines a group of players not observed on the practice field. Fleener has missed two straight days of work for unknown reasons. Joining Fleener are tight end Clay Harbor, wide receiver Travin Dural, wide receiver Jack Lampman, center Jack Allen, linebacker Stephone Anthony, cornerback Taveze Calhoun, cornerback Delvin Breaux (fibula). Anthony has missed three straight days of practice, but it is unclear as to what is keeping him from the field. Tight end Josh Hill, who was not on the field Thursday, returned Friday morning and put in a full practice. Ted Ginn Jr., who hasn't been on the practice for three consecutive sessions, was on the field Friday, but did not participate in anything outside of the stretching portion of practice. ------------------------------------ Word is that Ginn has been soaking his hands in a softening solution. |

Re: 2017 New Orleans Saints Training Camp
As we transition from Training Camp to full on Preseason, I gotta say, this is the type of camp and competition the team has needed...
That West Virginia dalliance of Sean Payton's really set this team back a few seasons... We're the Saints, hot, humid is what makes a mean, tough, nasty team... |

The Junction Boys made for a good movie. Modern medical science now shows it's the absolutely worst conditions for an athlete to train in. Altitude and ideal weather best (Seahawks, Pats, Denver, 49ers). |

Those teams have been better because they've made better personnel decisions, draft management... Look at what happened to the 49ers when one man had all the control... Belichick may be running the show, but he's been wise to put personnel people he listens and trusts... Payton, till very recently, had to feel he was pushing all the buttons, pulling all the levers... that's the difference between us and them... |
