Former Saint Rookie UDFA NT Ashaad Mabry UTSA (yes, same school as Marcus Davenport) still has a job in the NFL, unfortunately it's the Panthers...

And minutes after doing that his replacement ...

Eagles LB Paul Worrilow was carted off the field with an apparent knee injury ... Eagles signed LB Paul Worrilow, formerly of the Lions, to a one-year contract.
Word is it's an ACL and he's out for the season.

Well, we certainly learned last season you can never have too many linebackers...

Not sure we can afford him as his projected salary was over 7mil...

What's got me curious is that as well as he played, why does Jim Schwarz not like him???

Lacks play making/ball hawking ability. Solid starter but that's about it.

FWIW, I like him over AJ Klein but I doubt Kendricks ends up in NO.

Yeah, you're right about that; could see his sack numbers being where they are as he's solid in pass coverage with a good number of passes defensed...

But you're right his career numbers of forced fumbles (6), fumble recoveries (5), and interceptions (3) in six years is not going to get it done....

And Klein is more the thumper, SAM linebacker where Kendricks is a WLB...

Robertson has more production than that as the WILL...

They talked about his release ... and the subsequent Worrilow injury .. on Moving the Chains yesterday. Kirwin said it was a salary cap move. With other moves made Kendricks' cap hit would have put them over at the 4:00 daily deadline. If they can juggle a bit they may be able to pick him back up. Most other teams are in the same boat so there is a good chance Kendricks clears waivers. If they would have released someone else with a lower cap hit that player may not clear waivers. Kirwin added that this time of year the daily cap decisions are the toughest.

If he wants to stay there; seems they'd done better if they didn't want him hitting the market by re-working his contract...

Since Jim Schwarz arrived, they've been trying to show him the door...

Kirwin said they could have re-worked his contract, but that would have taken Kendrick's help and he probably didn't want to help ... thus, do it the hard way.

That's why I gotta believe Mychal Kendricks has a new zip code this season; solid player, but as KMajor pointed out, he's not a playmaker except for PDs...

But if you need to just shore up a position, he's your guy...

Report: Richie Incognito Placed On Involuntary Psychiatric Hold After Gym Altercation

Briefly retired offensive lineman Richie Incognito has been placed on “involuntary psychiatric hold” after being involved in a gym altercation today in which he allegedly threw a dumbbell at another person, TMZ reports.

According to Buffalo ABC affiliate WKBW, police said Incognito wasn’t actually arrested but placed under involuntary mental evaluation. Incognito, who was released by the Buffalo Bills two days ago, reportedly got into the argument with someone else working out at a fitness center in Boca Raton, Fla. More from TMZ:

Quote:

We spoke with the alleged victim who tells us Incognito first threw a tennis ball at him for no reason — before grabbing a dumbbell and heaving that as well.

The alleged victim says Incognito was rambling about the government and screaming at the man to “get off my f*cking playground.”

Law enforcement confirms cops were called to the gym and met with Incognito.
Incognito had been placed under mental evaluation previously in February 2014, after he was suspended from the Miami Dolphins for part of the 2013 season for his role in bullying his teammate Jonathan Martin, and after he smashed up his own Ferrari with a baseball bat.

We left a message with the Boca Raton police department and will update with new information.

You still want him, JP? :D

Good move by the Bills.

Maybe too many slaps on the head over the years. Richie appears to be a certified head case. He's not all there.

I'm doubling down right here...

Could you not see rolling him out before a game in full uniform with a Hannibal Lecter jaw restraint strapped to the bottom of his helmet???
;)

I think the team has who they want now. It's just a matter of everyone fighting it out. Then put the best of the rest on the PS. I think we have a very solid team this year. Our offense will be top 5 and our defense will come in around 6 or 7. Which gives you a damn good chance to win it all! I'm tired of holding my tongue anytime we think we have a chance for fear of the jinx so here goes I think we would've won the Superbowl last year and will win it this year!

Just an observation - it's amazing how the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 draft is out of football at age 26...

Just curious if he's still injured as well as his development was stunted, jammed up playing with the Jags...

Also, he may not be willing to play below a certain dollar amount - he got 8mil/year from Seattle last season...

I suspect there are many players who are just "okay" and wiser teams just aren't will to spend above a certain $ amount...

Sometimes players simply do not live up to expectations, while others greatly exceed expectations. Goes to show how inaccurate expectations can be.
