True. My question is how much dead money are we piling onto the books in two years when we have to to extend Peat, @CantGuardMike?

I get this is the year and making moves, but I'd rather have more players than a 31yo DT on his own self-proclaimed World Tour...

Saints’ restricted free agent WR Willie Snead is visiting the Ravens today, per source.

Well if we lose Snead we can always bring back Brandon Coleman, but we’d be getting pretty darn thin at proven pass-catchers.

We have Huff and he is just like Snead IMO. We can draft one in the 1st or 3rd but the way it stands now we will draft DE and TE then WR.

But what about the first two games of the 2018 season? Josh has been suspended by the league (personal conduct issue back in 16).

Huff won’t make the team. He’s been suspended the first two games of the season. If Snead goes and things remain the way they are then we’re banking on a huge leap by Austin Carr or Travin Dural. That isn’t good enough.

+1. I don't trust either of those guys. The Saints desperately need more talent at WR. Period. You can't make a legitimate "run" at the SB when we are only converting 35% on 3rd down.

Too many undrafted (Carr, Coleman, Carr, TLL, Dural, Snead, Josh Hill) players at WR not named Michael Thomas and Ted Ginn Jr.

If Suh goes to Oak he isn’t worried about winning then. It’s goingbtibtake another 2 years before they are a serious contender.

Re: 2018 NFL Free Agency

Other than Michael Thomas we don't have players who can fight press coverage. Way to many 3rd down situations where no one gets open. Drew Brees makes UDFAs look like all pros but that's not good enough in big games. Saints receiving corps is Michael Thomas. We should upgrade WR position.

Either we sign Allen Hurns or I’m praying we find some way to land Equanimeous St. Brown in the draft.

Ayers would be solid depth ... Okakor may need additional time to heal.

XVI,
Which round do project he'll be drafted? I saw a report where he compares well to JuJu Schuster. He's built like Mike Evans/K Benjamin.

I think that is a pretty decent deal for a good player.

Lol, that NY Giants cap hit probably played a part in it.

Eagles fans loved him and were pretty sad when they traded him away. Obviously things worked out just fine for them but they loved his potential.

This guy struggles with drops. Better athlete than Snead but poor hands.

Curtis Johnson ... coach em up!!!! He did wonders for Devery Henderson back in the day.

Jordan is still young (25) & I think those drops are correctable.

This is similar to Delvin Breaux (suspect medical staff) from last year.

Don't be like the New Orleans RagHeads and start rewriting history - I never laughed at you...

I believe I even pointed out that I was very bullish on Matthews that draft and that I'm disappointed he turned out to be a puss...

Rarely stayed healthy, avoided physicality to the detriment of his overall game and I've even read criticism of his route running...

On the whole, I just don't think we need to sign a secondary receiver to Big Mo...

If Matthews comes in cheap though, trying to pad his numbers in a Brees-led passing offense (or any WR of that tier) sure, I can see it happening...

But I really believe Snead will bounce back and we'll be the beneficiary of his off-year...
