^^^ But if I remember correctly, the Bengaloos made a strong push to acquire Kurt Coleman to ultimately replace Illoka back in March.

I don't think the Saints have any interest in Iloka, especially considering we still have a young, underwhelming SS in Bell who is playing on a relatively "cheap" rookie contract.

He is thinking he is gaining draft capital and not getting in cap hell. Which is a mistake a lot of teams get themselves into. Buy low and sale high!!!

Mack maybe superb but 23.5 ml in cap savings and two future 1st rounders(even if your are giving up 2nd) is a lot of playroom

Agreed on needing a serious interior presence however I can't blame the front office for not over spending again (see J Byrd) on a costly FA. The more a team can lean on young, cheap talent, the better we will be.

I thought we were heading in the right direction with Nick Fairley though. He was a terror in the trenches.

There’s “not over-spending” and there’s sitting on your hands. We don’t seem to have upgraded at a clear position of need.
