I'd take that production and veteran presence all day on a already stout D line in New Orleans. Up in age but Gerald is still a very good player who could help us get the ultimate prize.

The Ravens are probably doing their due diligence until Ansah is cleared medically. And he's touching all of the interested bases in the meantime, as well.

Why not? We’ve signed MUCH worse. Besides we could use ZA

I was actually getting off the plane at the same time as Sammy Knight was first arriving...

"What's that smell?" - Sammy Knight

"New Orleans" - Me

"It Smells like this all the time?" - Knight

"Smells are much better around the restaurants, we do that to make you appreciate the food more..." - Me

"Seriously?" - Knight

"No, I don't know what the hell died today (He laughed), but the food is seriously better than anywhere in the country. Welcome to New Orleans." - Me

My cousin who'd met up with me on the last leg of that flight called me later to say he'd sign with the Saints; then, I thought I was in better shape than he was, had no idea how great he was to become...

That experience, his arrival to the NFL and his penchant for turnovers made him one of my All-Time Favorite Saints...

Knight should have been a perennial ProBowler - He really was. What I realized about football later in life (my late 20s, then) was that you gotta look at the man, not just what is now known as the SPARQ scores...

And it always adds extra juice to the fandom when you get to interact and find a good human being in that short interaction down the Delta concourse as well...

It never said he hadn't "met" the new center. It said he looks forward to "working" with him. Coaches are not allowed to "work" with players until the official OTA's begin, right?

Yes, but on the radio interview it sounded like he hadn't really met him; he did, but I'd thought they'd done a more extended interview with the position coaches...

Josh Hill is tapped out. Strong blocker, average receiver. Never turned the corner. He'll be almost 30 start of the season. We need a TE bottomline that can catch. We got one from the Raiders but who knows. He's not consistent. Big games then vanishes.

I think legit contribution, Chad knows how much attention Thomas draws, Chad in his prime would have been phenomenal with MT13. Just a shame that Chad only learned humility after being cut by numerous teams.

Any chance the Saints are considering Suh second time around? Maybe he comes at a 2019 "bargain" price?

He's a notable name still unsigned.

Just a thought ...

Suh mailed in the check in the regular season and the only reason why I believe he had a good playoffs grade, especially the NFCCG, was we now know Peat had pins placed in his hand the days before the game...

No, I'd say we're good - Now, if Gerald McCoy wanted to play with his workout buddy Drew Brees...

Things should start picking up now. As of yesterday, free agents no longer count toward the compensation formula.

For the many team in the league, but I'm not sure why that'd matter to Payton/Mickster because their strategy has never been to accrue compensatory picks...

While this is true the Saints may have had to wait for this date for the others to give their pitch.
