Seems as though we are talking about two different receivers.

No. The Dude has been a Meredith hater for some reason from the very start and appears to be rooting for him to fail.

Well, some of the criticism is warranted on Cam Meredith, but I wouldn't root for any Saint to fail...

My take is to put forth positive spin on Keith Kirkwood and Tre'quan Smith who're now one year Pros and will be much better healthier stronger this season.

The rookies last year will have NFL conditioning, health care, diets, and nothing but football too focus...

Another criticism of the Davenport selection I'd make has nothing to do with the young man, but the foolishness of putting that much on one young man's shoulders who's just...

Played a full college season with many double teams and chip blocks, wear and tear with less than ideal support healthcare (see the turnaround in Alex Anzalone and that was a major school Univ of Florida...

Davenport, among his peers are (suppose to be) putting time in with his studies), and then with no break from the reg season...

Training, pushing at the highest physical level the limits of his body to maximize his draft position, again with little or no time for his body to rest recover, then thrown into the NFL?

Oh, by the way, the small markets in the NFL scored a win...

WTF? This kid would've been an awesome get for us as CB depth, kicking game gunner & punt returner. Know the injury is not life-threatening for him, but WTF?!? Another promising NFL career interrupted...

Footnote - I wasn't aware Gardner-Johnson had a coaching relationship (called him coach AG in this clip) already established with Glenn? That's great.

The kid from Idaho and Aliz'e could surprise us too.

I'm elated with the Saints 2019 draft.

For some, the disdain on Meredith is real. I guess you can't please everyone.

I mean he wasn't 100% healthy, but many peoples memory of him may be catching a 5 yard pass vs Washington, which he then fumbled and I believe was returned for a TD.

That's my only memory of him from last year to be honest.

He had nine catches in only ten targets. One of those catches did result in a fumble against Washington, but it was not returned for a touchdown. In total he had five catches in five targets in that game for 71 yards.

Probably due to the extremely small sample size. He has a better chance of production than any rookie we actually had a chance of taking with our limited draft picks. I have to admit.....N'Keal Harry would look great in the black and gold!

LB Kaden Elliss has some incredible measurables. At his Pro Day his 3-cone was 6.63!

I'd get a brain freeze trying to down three cones that fast.

Know some don't care for him (I hated him as a player, personality) but Elway had one helluva draft this year...

Let's look at it four years from now. For all we know it could end up being a disaster.

I won't discount what John Lynch did in 2019 either. On paper, the 49ers looked like they really improved with guys who could have an "impact" immediately.

Bosa
Debo Samuel
Hurd

In addition to FA signings Dee Ford, Kwon Alexander, & RB Teven Coleman + they get Garropolo back.

They'll face us this season so there's that.

Elway's ability to evaluate and draft QB's is worse than Sean Paytons.

jeanpierre 05-03-2019 07:00 AM

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft

Elway's real problem has been hiring the right coaching...

Case Keenum, while not elite, was successful in Vikingland...

And the talent on defense in Denver is as good as the Vikings...

So...Coaching Maybe? Just a little?

That's one of things I like most about Gardner-Johnson ... the will to win & compete. He's never satisfied with his play. Always looking for ways to improve & get better at his craft.

Gardner falling to us like this evokes deja vu like Lattimore inexplicably falling to us in 2017...

Don't know JP, Ingram was the same way, he turned out able to catch out of the backfield. I like a bruiser like this kid is. First rounder??
