Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft

As well as Kahale Warring tested at the combine, Foster Moreau edged him in most catergories...

The edge in the draft would be that Warring has better game tape as a receiver where Moreau was often kept in to help pass protect vs SEC opponents...

Bill Belichick is taking a hard look at Kahale Warring as well - so he's no longer know to draft niks...

Honestly, as deep as the draft is at Tight End, I'd be surprised if both Warring and Moreau are still on the board after Day 2...

As for word about this Oliver kid, or any other rookie, concerning what the Saints, or any other franchise, is thinking ... I don't believe any of it. You know this time of the off-season is the season for misinformation. If anything is leaked out it is most likely the furthest thing from what is actually being discussed. Besides, each team has a certain number of interviews/visits allotted and all franchises should be looking ahead to when this current crop of rookies become free agents in four years, or so.

Well I didn't think the Saints would spend two first round picks like they did, so I wouldn't put it past Bad Sean...

And so far as New England, you're saying what I'm saying, you've got to have plenty picks so you can get more hits in the draft - it's basic numbers...

It's better to have more bullets than not enough, which is exactly the position we find ourselves, again...

So, my wife just sent me a text that the Bungles and Buccs are swapping QBs????

This supports my opinion of Mike Brown and his infatuation with dysfunctional players. Dalton is less than wonderful, but Winston is not an improvement.

BTW...All you B&Gers can eat your hearts out knowing that my wife of 44 years follows the NFL free agency/draft. Further more, she loves to fish more than I do, handles a mean 9mm CZ and can shoot doves with the best of em. If I could pick players like I pick wives I'd have Irleand's job right now.

Anyone familiar with this kid from La. Tech?

https://saintswire.usatoday.com/2019...rkout-pro-day/

The New Orleans Saints will meet up with Louisiana Tech defensive end Jaylon Ferguson and put him through a workout ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft, per Sean Fazende of FOX8 New Orleans. Ferguson has been a force for the Bulldogs ever since he stepped on campus in 2015, eventually breaking Terrell Suggs’ NCAA record with 45 sacks in his four-year career. Ferguson was also wildly productive against the run, recording 67.5 tackles for loss of yards.

Yes. In several articles recently about Top 5 / 10 players likely to fall, he's in nearly every one I've read or mentioned; don't know if that is opposition draft gamemanship...

Most of the recent scouting reports have highlighted his poor bend/flexibility about the edge; some have mentioned a Freshman year arrest for assault that was "negotiated" down to a misdemeanor...

In spite of all that, he's the NCAA FBS Career Leader in Sacks (45). I find he's a lot like Mario Edwards, a tweener between a SDE and a DT3; he may, may fall out of the first round, but is likely gone in the Top 50...

Abysmal workout numbers for Jaylon Ferguson have sunk his draft stock. An 8.08 three cone time and 5.12 short shuttle are tremendously bad.

Yeah, but I tell you what Chris, you gotta go to the film and the film and face to face interviews should be the most weighted factors; Ferguson lost face the way he was embarrassed by the NFL at the Combine...

Have had a man-crush for BC's DE Zach Allen since 2017 when watching out for Harold Landry; Allen was the one bullying, bullying, pro prospects across the line from him; but Allen's Sparq is not impressive...

When you watch film of Allen's vs opponents, he's the guy I want with me on the Suicide Squad vs evil sorceress and her big, bad MoFo Brother; I'd love for him to be our pick at 62 and park him behind Cam Jordan...

Thing that bothers me about Ferguson was the same that turned me off on Davenport - Senior Bowl performance; Ferguson was "handled" facing better talent like Davenport got thrown like a toy by Alex Cappa...

That kinda thing just stays in the loop for me...

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft

Not up on draft prospects this year

This is interesting though
Sounds a good fit

McShay’s pick: OL Elgton Jenkins, Mississippi State

It took a while, but New Orleans is finally on the board. The Saints got Nick Easton from the Vikings, but he could also play guard. Jenkins also has versatility and is strong against the pass rush.

Jenkins comes in on the smaller side for an offensive lineman at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds, but there’s no cause for concern. He’s a well-rounded athlete with some real areas of strength, firing off the snap and moving well in short areas. Jenkins finished his college career with 26 consecutive starts at center for the Bulldogs; before that, he moved around as the team needed, starting at both tackle spots and left guard. He’d be a great addition.

2017 NFL Draft Flash Back - RB Alvin Kamara, NFL.com's Combine & Draft Profile, Scouting Report

Re: 2019 Saints NFL Draft

This was my favorite on their "missed analysis" on Kamara ....

WEAKNESSES Vision can be hit or miss. Not an instinctive runner. Needs to see running lane develop and is missing a feel for reading progressions of his blocks.

LOL. Vision? Goes to show you Pro scouts get it wrong. Even with the comparison to Thomas Jones.

Coach gets a ton of credit on this one for me. AK is special, but SP put him in a position to succeed. Gotta "coach em up".
