I can’t argue with the pick. The best Wr’s in the league can’t do **** if the O line can’t keep the Qb off the ground, block, make holes, and snap without fumbling. I’ll take that pick all day. He will be very solid as a backup when something happens to Armstead. They can shuffle Easton and plug him right in. I’m happy.

I hear ya. Can you imagine how bad it might’ve been this season though with a crappy center?

I think Easton kind of takes on the old Senio Kelemete 6th man role now.

Now we have the 14th pick in the 4th round... Do we trade into the 3rd??

I was hoping for a talented OLineman. We got him and the price wasn't steep. Like it. WR is deep, so grab 1 in the 4th. There'll still be decent ones there.

Could see a Peat trade if there's someone they want. Though I don't like the idea of two new starters on the libe

Top 10 fastest OL in the 40-yard dash at 2019 NFL Combine

Anyone care to guess who the fastest O lineman was ???

Freakish speed for a big man.

I'd like to see three younger starters on the line, they'll figure out the chemistry when they're younger anyways; veterans you have to dance around their feelings, personal space as they get entitled...

Wide Receivers and Running Backs are only as valuable as their fit into a system, and most don't have a long shelf life anyhow; they're maybe four, five exceptions at any given time during a giving era/decade...

Most are actually plug and play, now - it really is about the coaching, staff, scouting, GM...

We survived pretty well from 2010-2013 with Brian de la Puente at center (And please don't misinterpret this as a knock on Erik McCoy)...

Wonder if Easton was apprised of the situation when he signed or if he got a reassurance phone call from Coach Payton that he'd get a fair shot at the job...

Only guy that helped us was Ted Ginn, but those guys had a ton of opportunities to be "the" guy in crunch time and failed.

That's why I think another WR is very high on our list of needs.

With the exception of Tommylee, everyone of those guys you named have one thing in common - they were all in their first full season in the NFL...

Now they've got a full season and a full offseason, now no longer starstruck, go into the office each day with Hey, Drew instead of OMG, I can't believe that's Drew Brees...

Everyone of those guys except for the diminutive Tommylee Lewis who can't offer sh!t on punt returns (or doesn't really want to) will likely make this team and make some impressive plays on the Run to the Lombardi...

Freakish speed for a big man.

With linemen, I'm more concerned with their bench press, 3-cone, and shuttle times...

McCoy was solid in the Bench Press, but just okay in the lateral skills which is a little concerning as several of his scouting reports suggests he struggles in finishing combo-blocks, second tier blocks...

Besides, if you're linemen is running a 40, it's likely someone's turn the ball over and he's trying to stop a pick-six...

Hopefully Roushar and company can coach better technique to maske those deficiencies in his game; with the investment, he needs to be starting by Week 1...

Nothing more. Solid addition made by the Saints :bng:.

We couldn't sign this guy to a 24-hour contract and let him retire as a Saints so he can announce a pick for us every year like this? Now this is how a retired NFL lifer should come to the podium...

Now that McCoy is in the fold and should obviously be the starter at Center, this now really frustrates me...

Kelemete left for this...

And we signed his replacement a year later for this...

So for one million more guaranteed, we could have kept Kelemete last season? More Questions...

I would like DT Mack/Watts, OT Edwards or Safety Hooker from that list.

WRs I'm watching is Harmon & Butler and we're sitting pretty at that 14th pick. Also, Safeties Gardner-Johnson & Thompson are still available...2 talented athletic secondary guys for some really good depth.

We can grab a real value player here. Unless we fart it like last year's Slick Rick Pick in the 4th.

Reason to take a SS fairly high is that although Vonn Bell improved last year, his play doesn't warrant, nor will the salary cap allow an extension at that position with so many other deals coming due...

Watch for WR Jeff Smith, Boston College to be taken in some super stealthy way; somebody has found skeletons in Mr. Two-Last-Names' closet (don't trust guys like that)...

Sheldrick Redwine and Evan Worthington are worth keeping an eye on in the late fifth and then in the sixth round...

Center & Guard? Gee, the possibilities there...love love this pick plus grabbing the 14th pick in the 4th. Gave up next year's 2nd & one of our two 6th Rders this year. Robbery.

McCoy gives us a starter immediately...hard to beat with a mid 2nd Rd guy who many thought was a 1st Rd pick. I saw him as high as the teens in the 1st in some mock ups.

I'll take Erik and be happy but it is a good thing that Payton fills all the holes on the team with FAs and doesn't depend on the draft for immediate starters.

Freakish speed for a big man.

That type of speed is very very rare for an interior lineman and even more so for a center.

The Saints getting Erik McCoy there is one of the best value picks of the draft so far. He started every game he was available to play at A&M. Can play guard and center equally well. 4.89 40 at the combine w/ 29 lifts

I'm never crazy about trading up in the draft but I think this was the right move. Young athletic guy that should help us anchor the OL. With Easton on board too we now have flexibility and a little depth on OL.

It's going to be an interesting third day, I'd hope if Nelson falls he's there so we can solidify DE...

But with all the Saints' talk about Day 3 being Special Teams Day, maybe it'll be DBs, LBs, and RBs...

Everyone have a great day!
