I think the Saints are really interested in Warring. If they don't select a TE in Round 2, do you foresee them trading back (quality TE's in this class) in Rd 3?

I'll be shocked if we don't take a TE this year but the million dollar question is in which round??

Here's the thing with the 2019 Tight End class, Warring and, yes, Moreau may end up having higher ceilings than many of the other kids as All-Around Tight Ends, not just receivers...

I'm not buying Irv Smith, Jr., al all; not as a blocker, not as a receiver; he was not featured in the Bama offense, which is another tell for me...

That said, the Pats are slotted two picks after us in the second, then the Patriots have three picks in the third including an early third, so with the talent there, and multiple choices, they've got to get Gronk 2.0...

So that's why I don't see moving back in the third and still taking Kahale Warring; if we move back, it'll be to pick up a third and fourth (comparable to when we traded up to select Vonn Bell)...

Then we could take a cornerback, and an interior linemen on offense or defense...

But most draft sims I've seen or even those I've participated in, there's very little wiggle to see Warring falling to us past the 12th pick of the third round...

There’s two things that I can guarantee:

1. We will trade a later round pick and a 2020 mid-round pick to move up in the 2nd round.

2. We will trade our 2020 2nd round pick for a 3rd round pick this year.

Doesn’t matter if we like it or not... Y’all know how Payton and them operate. They’ll be needlessly aggressive.

Neither Stills nor Cooks is a #1 wideout. We aren’t trading Thomas.

Foster Moreau - TE LSU

Possible NFL stud (see 2017 rookie 49er George Kittle) in the making ? ...hope our scouts did their homework. I'd hate for this guy to end up in the NFC South doing big things against us.

Greg Little - Ole Miss OT

Big kid from Allen, TX who has good hands & technique. Was coached well in High School and at Ole Miss. Has the potential to become the next Orlando Pace.

I like Greg Little to fall to us. People are saying Tillery and I don't see how he gets out of the top 40

Only way I see Tillery falling is if a GM/coach get spooked on draft day due to his recent should surgery. He's definitely has the size and power.

The tools are there.

Ryan Nielsen could coach this kid to a pro bowl level.

IF we stay at 62, here's my picks:

Riley Ridley WR UGA or Parris Campbell WR OSU (same player IMO)
Zach Allen DE Boston College
Tytus Howard OT Alabama State
Mack Wilson LB Alabama
Dexter Lawrence DT Clemson

Check out UGA Mecole Hardman, BC Jeff Smith, or Auburn's Darius Slayton - all we need is a Z that can stretch the field vertically, keeping the defense honest. Why spend a first, second on that position?

Look, unless we're letting @cantguardmike walk out the building when via free agency when his rookie contract expires (3rd rd compensatory pick)or via a trade in the last year of contractual rights, he's the X-WR...

While we got Mike under contract, a big one at that, spend those Day 1 and Day 2 picks on needs at premium positions such as QB, CB, DE...

PS: Zach Allen is the most underrated players this draft; also LB Blake Cashman, OL Max Scharping, TE Foster Moreau, CB Jimmy Moreland, OL Keaton Sutherland, CB Tim Harris, WR Cody Thompson, FB Alec Ingold, C Jon Baker...

I look at what the position produces for OUR team. EX: the Z today is Tedd Ginn Jr. A former top 10 draft pick. A player we traded for - that's how valuable the skill set is to this offense. So I say a younger, faster version of TG (with less dropsies) is worth a second round pick. None of that means CGM is going anywhere.

TE on the other hand. That's a position we can get later in the draft.

I love Zach Allen.

Add Justin Layne to that love list too and a real possibility at 62.

Watch the Saints brass draft a guy in the 2nd (assuming we stay put) that many of us have never heard of :p.

I'll admit, I didn't see Davenport coming last draft. Looks like a solid pick for years to come though.

Can't wait until draft night.

Germaine Pratt - LB NC State

Sleeper pick in the 2nd round. Could GP become the 2019 version of Darius Leonard (DEF ROY) from last year's draft?

Plus One. For me, I took Davenport off my loved list after the Senior Bowl and no way did I see the Payton spending two firsts and a fifth to take a guy who got treated like this at the Senior Bowl...

But I'd agree that I think Davenport will turn out to be a fine edge defender for us - we just overpaid tremendously...

With Payton's love affair for Ohio State, I really thought we'd take Sam Hubbard in the Second, and I'd hoped we'd get Alex Cappa as well...

Totally agree about Tight End being deep. And with Cook now under contract, and our guys returning from last year, I don't even consider it a need at all...

Warring, though, is awfully tempting; and Foster Moreau is probably my favorite, most affordable TE fit for the Saints...

T.J. Hockensen would be like putting a big block in this offense...

Like Germaine Pratt, but he's a Senior-r, already and, curiously I can't find his DOB, age on any profiles?!?

This is an interesting, honest scouting report on him...

Speaking of "Thee" Ohio State ... thoughts on Parris Campbell? There is a good chance he is sitting there in the 2nd. Could be lethal in the slot & has serious jets to get open quickly.

Great Receiver, who, like @cantguardmike, was not utilized at OSU (which is why I have serious doubts about Haskins as a passer)...

But as I said in earlier post, I don't think we need to spend that kind of draft capital on a WR that just needs to stretch the field and this deep WR draft will have sixth round guys who can do that for us...

'76 rightfully pointed out Ted Ginn was a high draft pick, however, if that draft were re-done, he most certainly wouldn't be taken that high...

We're about to have some serious issues again on both the offensive and defensive line; actually there upon us though most don't realize it...

Since Cam Jordan's game has taken a 180 two-three years ago, so has my opinion of his game; but he's gonna be 30 this year and in no way do I like another big contract on a player at that position at that age...

Guess that's why I'm so high on Zach Allen. He's a Howie Long type that can play up and down the defensive line for ya; and, most importantly, he's a bully at a position where you need to intimidate...

Also, after Ramczyk, we no longer have any young offensive linemen starting for us and I'd like to see us get more youth on the offensive line. Peat may be departing, so a franchise guard makes sense as well...

I'd also keep an eye on Safety. Guys like Juan Thornhill could be that Polamalu-type that Kenny Verret was suppose to be and I'm sure Payton/Allen still covet...

Chance that him or Ridley could fall and if so we have to take either one and save TE for the 5th (Moreau).

Something tells me Moreau is off the board on Day 3 :(.

Someone (if not us) is going to get a guy who will bring his hard hat to practice every day & compete to get better at his craft.

Side note - I like Ridley a lot. Strong hands & runs routes accurately.

When it comes to WR’s, I think we’re more interested in guys that could be there in later rounds like Gary Jennings (West Virginia), David Sills (West Virginia) or Stanley Morgan (Nebraska).

Could see that, could see him going in the late 3rd into when the compensatory picks begin at the end of that round...

Understand we've taken several secondary looks at Sills through the eyes of scouts not in that region; one thing that comes up is how he continually "wins" contested throws by Grier...

That'd be a smart move to keep rolling and not blow it all up after one year...

Murray may be a great QB, but you just threw a rookie in the fire with no offensive line last year...

Then again, AZ has had an offensive line since their SuperBowl Run where they got jacked by officiating vs the cherished Steelers...

Versatile - could possibly play guard or tackle at the next level.

Only 19 reps on the Bench Press at the Combine (ouch)...

He was often over-matched against bowl game teams which may have to do with his lack of conditioning/strength...
