Re: Saints Draft Days Official Thread
Well, after giving it more thought and sleeping on it, I still hate this deal. Say what you will about our roster being "too stacked for late round choices to stick." Many, myself included, have made the mistake in recent years of believing that our roster is sooo deep and sooo talented. Then the injuries start rolling in and guys who you thought were gonna make the leap never do and before you know it we're getting bounced out of the playoffs by an inferior team in our own house. Our roster is miles away from perfect. We still need depth in the secondary, at LB and for heaven's sake we need more WR's. We have 2 good one's, which I will concede is twice as many as we had last year, but behind them it's a wasteland. We could've used a developmental QB, considering life after Drew is coming soon and we are totally unprepared currently.
I like the player well enough. Though, his physical traits don't exactly jump off the page, and I'm unimpressed by his stats due to the level of competition he played against. But unless he becomes an absolute stud then I will never believe he's worth the price that was paid. These mystical point systems are bs. There's no way that a late 3rd round pick is worth a 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th. We got fleeced. |

That's like saying a dollar bill, a quarter, a dime, and a penny are more monetary capital than a five dollar bill because there are more of them. Just saying. |
