Tyler Lockett. IMO he would be an excellent compliment to MT.

Seattle seems to be in rebuild mode, especially after losing Russ Wilson.

He has a 31ml dead cap hit this year

Julio, just didn't look healthy and will still think he is a 12ml plus WR

OBJ, won't see the field till at least Nov, won't be fit till the playoffs and hasn't looked like Odel since the first ACL tear in Cleveland which they have pretty much admitted the surgery wasn't a 100% success

TY Hilton/Will Fuller - Likely to pull a hamstring signing a contract, Vet minimum type deals

Emmanuel Sanders, the man is talking retirement and as soon as that starts its over. He is 35

The team needs to get younger
Get a TE and WR in the draft

WR1 Thomas
WR2
WR3 Calloway
WR4 Harty
WR5 Smith

TE1 Hill
TE2
TE3 Trautman

Add in a RB likely to see plenty of targets there is more than enough there if they get the drafting correct. No need to be overpaying veterans.

That 10ml would be better spent on McCoy and CGJ new deals

This is Trautman's third year - breakout season, so don't be surprised it all comes together...

He already has a contract & will only count against the salary cap for a team that trades for him. 10M or so.

The Saints essentially wouldn't have to do any restructure, extension, or give him a new deal.

All of this would make a lot of sense "IF" the Saints were interested.

Sammy Watkins to the Packers on a one-year 4M deal.

The likes of Humphries, Will Fuller etc could come on the cheap.

One cannot stress enough that we need another proven WR & TE added to the roster.

Idk. I still think Beasley would be a good addition for the right price.

Too bad the Saints aren't on the horn (trade talk) with Brandin Cooks agent.

You look at his stats over the last 8 seasons ... that is exactly what you look for in a WR. Top-level, consistent production.

90 receptions/1037 yards/6tds in 2021 were the stats for BC with David Mills as your QB .

That Deshaun Watson Dance costs the Saints a very affordable D.J. Chark...

I thought that he signed an extension with the Texans?!

Had to check because I wasn't sure, but yeah, he signed a two-year extension this month.

I am beginning to give up hope that we'll add an affordable WR in free agency. There is still a shot that Loomis has something in the works. We did re-sign Tre' Quan Smith. Personally, I don't think he'll ever be any better than a #3 or #4 WR, but as it turns out we need one of those on the team to fill out the depth chart and he does know the system.

There are a few reasons to feel like Smith may take a step forward this season when it clicks and he finally puts it together. We have a new WR coach to work with 3Q on developing his game. We have a new strength and conditioning program to help him get on the practice field where maybe he can put it together while staying healthy.

On one play he looks great and then once again he disappears for long stretches. It's time to take his game to the next level with consistency rather than just the usual highs and lows of Tre' Quan's time in black and gold. It's seems to me that he simply lacks a steady focus when times are tough. One moment he's making the play of the day. After that he's back to running the wrong route or dropping the pass. Mental issues are what is holding him back.

He's got size, speed, and he is a a very good blocker, which is critical, to the down field YAC numbers. I value good blockers! I wasn't happy when I read that we were bringing him back but upon further reflection I'll be looking forward to watching any improvements I can find.

I haven't seen Smith as having an issue dropping the ball. He had two drops last year. He has nine total for his first four seasons.

Then why, when I think of Tre' Quan, do I have a mental image of him dropping the ball? Thanks for the info.

I look at Trequan and I see absolutely nothing special.

A flat-footed, slow plodder. Sure, "he's a good blocker" but he needs to be a playmaker. I've been the biggest Trequan non-believer for a few years now.

There has been very little progress with him, period.

Agreed and whilst a good blocker is okay, Callaway is a good blocker and offers more as a pass catcher than Trequan does.

It would be nice to not be so dependent on the draft to add pass-catching talent. Gives us the flexibility to go BPA.

Good hell, take a flyer on Mayfield. I think he might be pretty good with a decent line and a MT to throw to.

Btw I'd be stunned if Landry walked out of here with a contract. Probably ain't happening. lol

$20MM is a lot but Landry has plenty of years left in the NFL

Re: 2021 NFL Free Agency: New Orleans Saints

I see JL move as realistic because you give the team and JW another strong possession type player which can help speed up the offense and his release times while helping the OL. This signing would also allow the draft picks to be used to fill the LT another stretch the field WR or BPA for positions of need.
We will see …Think we get a couple of starters on 5 year rookie deals which

They're just kicking the tires on salary... still too much though. These guys now want Drew Brees $.

Side topic - our guys could use a solid pro & leader in those WR meetings.

I'd be elated to have Landry as a Saint however I'm not holding my breath.

At the end of the day, it comes down to compensation.

Maybe we are driving up the price on Landry for the desperate Browns LOL

It seem like all the LSU boys wanna come home, they just don’t wanna come home on a discount. He really doesn’t have to entertain us. I’m sure Atlanta would love to overpay him.

I’d sure rather have Winston throwing to me than Mariota.

2 former Heisman trophy winners & both selected #1 & 2 in the 2015 NFL draft.
